GENERAL

There are moments in a mortal's life that feels dark and hopeless, moments that are indistinguishable from the pure darkness of oblivion. You might receive the help you usually expect in these moments, but in some places  ,where the forests are dark and ancient and where old gods are said to sleep,  someone might suggest you take a stroll in the woods by night. It is not a suggestion made out of malice: it is merely an advice to seek the company of a band of satyrs.

THE FREE AND THE MERRY

Satyrs are males of any race, credo and rank that ,usually after reaching a particularly gruesome low in their lives, decided to completely shed their mortality to be part of the first revelry. The first revelry is a dance, and a party, and an orgy. and a ritual that some says has been going on since the dawn of the old gods, and that will reach its  absolute climax when the world will inevitably end.

GAINING ENTRY IN THE FIRST REVELRY

there are some rules and steps to gain access: first of all, you must find the first revelry. It is said that only the ones whose fate has ran its course and are marked forever by defeat and failure will be able to find the right path in the woods.

if your fate is really at an end, then you only need to reach any forest by night and you will find it. When you do find the first revelry you'll manage to find it any time you wish to, no matter where you are in the world or after how long you decide to return to it. You can dance with the satyrs, you can fight them, have sex with them, anything to soothe your wounded soul: the satyrs are wonderful and kind hosts, their joy is infectious, and love to make people feel at ease , not to mention they possess a ravishing sensuality that is hard to resist. At some point you'll pass out, it is normal. You are still mortal after all. When you'll awake the revelry will be gone. You have to seek the revelry out three more times: each time the satyrs gifts will change you a bit. You'll feel more relaxed, a rythm will guide your every step and give you energy to face any adversity, and you'll slowly grow horns and caprine legs. The fourth time you join the revelry the satyrs will ask you to join them and to shed your mortal form. Some refuse, and they never see the creatures again, losing their gifts forever, others carve their hearts out and have the satyrs feed on it: their mortality has been rejected, and their new life as a satyr of the first revelry has begun.

THE RANDY SATYRS

satyrs make no distinction on gender , They'll cavort and have sex with anyone they deem in need of their assistance. They are mostly sought out and welcomed by homosexual males of all extractions ,but the temptation of  eternal pleasure and immortality is great for all genders. No matter what though, the moment someone sheds their mortality they'll become male presenting, due to some inscrutable inner mystical machinations of the process .Much as willingly renouncing your life as a normal mortal, this is a price not everyone is willing to pay. For some though, this is an added bonus.

SATYRWINE

satyrs are famous for their perpetual drunkenness.Satyrwine flows everywhere where they are present: empty cups overflow with it, rivers and brooks are red with it, and it even pours out from stones , nests and trees in an unending flow. Satyrwine is both a prized magic component and a potent alcoholic that is said to lenghten the lifespan of who drinks it. This is the reason most adventurers actively search for the first revelry on commission from some old lord or noble that is too afraid to die. This is easier said than done since you can't bring the satyrwine outside the first revelry: it disappears quickly as you get farther from it. The only way to bring home a cup or a satchel full of it is either by having a satyr gift it to you (wich is extremely rare) or by killing one of them and filling your container directly from the holes in their chests. 

SIDE EFFECTS

satyrwine is incredibly potent, and any amount consumed will immediately send its drinker in a drunken stupor. There are side effects to this: one that has made satyrs famous  beside their drunkeness is that satyrwine increases libido and engorges the male genitals of the drinker , and in some cases it has male genitals grow where there was none ( be it the case of eunuchs or women). Another side effect is that the more time you spend drunk on satyrwine the younger you become, plateauing at around 20 years old after days and days  of drinking. 

BROCHALIA AND ITS DRUNK KING

it is said that the small kingdom of brochalia sits on an enormous cellar of satyrwine and that its king bartholomew the 3rd and most of his cohort have been drunk on it for over 200 years. It is unknown whether they have been granted the alcohol as a gift or they have slain satyrs for it. What is certain is that satyrwine is the basis of most of the economy of the town, with poorer people buying watered down ampoules at exorbitant prices to fight aging and illness and many young women and men falling into a life of prostitution and servitude in the hope to be part of the king's seemingly immortal harem.
