Hey guys! It's been a little over a week since the last post and Houpo has been hard at work on the next CG scene, but it's going to take a little while since this one is pretty large. With that, we've gotten a lot of new additions to our community so I'd like to welcome and thank everyone that has recently joined our little club!
The goals have been changed multiple times over the lifespan of this Patreon, mainly due to unforeseen events coming into play, both good and bad. Since the 0.10.50 update and with it the large influx of new awesome Patrons; we've had to rework the budget quite a bit and determine what we need moving forward.
Firstly, let's talk about the $2500 goal. You caught a glimpse of what we're able to do with a large budget in 0.10.50 since that was funded from a source outside of the Patreon, and now we're using what we have left into 0.11, but after that our monthly content production will slow down to utilize the Patreon budget, which currently restricts some of our team from working at full capacity, the second goal will help alleviate this.
One thing that has been talked about on the discord is a soundtrack for the game, which indeed we do have a single background soundtrack that was made for the 0.10 update, but was removed since it was odd to hear it during some more dramatic scenes. After talking with the Sound Designer we hired for our trailer we determined an appropriate goal to begin work on an OST for Uni without having to take work away from the rest of the team.
Lastly, the $10,000 is a high marker indeed, but is the largest milestone on our path to larger games and higher production quality. We want to move to a more complex engine such as Unity or Unreal Engine, and with that will come higher costs for production with higher cost staff. This will be the beginning of our second stage into our game development road-map.
