589 Spearhome

Small farming communities thrive next to important military holds and often grow into full-fledged towns after the worse part of the war fades away with time. A small farming settlement known as Spearhome was born this way. It owes its name to a famous battalion in the last war where all soldiers fought with spears and shields. They were renowned for their abilities with their weapons. The soldiers were stationed in a double-walled fortification named Summer’s End.
Today, the settlement has grown into a small town. After two generations of farmers and herders, the locals are no longer interested in keeping the fortress well-repaired or training for any future war complications, despite the town being a few miles from the kingdom's border. They have grown complacent in their simple but hard-working lives.
This is a level-neutral adventure location where the characters can interact with the locals, do odd jobs to earn the townsfolk's favor, and even convince the duke to allow them to establish a base of operations and settle.
