It's been reported that a transitory imprisonment area in the local city barracks has a high death count. For some unknown reason many of the inmates die in the barracks' jail before their eventual shipment to a max security prison. The warden of the jail, Dirty Joe, insists that many of the temporary inmates come to the cells in bad physical conditions and with incurable ailments. A large portion of them die after two days or so. The bodies are cremated, it's policy.

But Dirty Joe lies, it is all a front to protect some of the most influential individuals in the city. People so powerful that they have exhausted the pastimes and activities that regular folks do for entertainment. Such activities do not bring them excitement anymore. Now they come to the dirty barracks building in the middle of the night to watch people fight. Dirty Joe forces inmates to fight each other or, sometimes, monsters. None of them make the night most of times. The rich visitors bet on the fighters or the monsters and relish on the fact of spending their money in depravity and violence.
