It's the kind of thing that can be like, the game has already thrown every big setpiece at you and doesn't need to prove anything anymore at that point, and also helps having a big open area for a big open fight with a big effin monster. Breath of the Wild comes to mind oddly enough, with the final stage of Calamity Ganon being on the big open Hyrule Field.

2025-07-13 14:47:48 +0000 UTCThe "green meadow" as a home is kind of turned on its head in Final Fantasy X. The game starts with an epic colosseum battle and a flooded temple level, but the Calm Lands, basically a big meadow, come very late in the game as the game approaches its final act.
