Is the Promise of Xbox Game Pass Over? | Unpacked

Thank you!

Nick Calandra

I have subbed to Game Pass Ultimate for years but I find I am starting to question why. I only play a handful of games regularity these days. Is it even worth it? No, not really.

If there were any hopes that the Microsoft deal would help Raven Software escape the Call of Duty mines they are dead by now. Even then, I pray that id Software and Raven aren't in the chopping block next. Specially id, considering how Starfield and Friends was a disappointment to pretty much everybody. I wouldn't put it past Todd Bethesda to ritually sacrifice id in order to spare Bethesda from Microsoft's guillotine.

T+2d - Youtube is making it seem like the video has been taken down, might be a glitch, might just be a today thing.

Her response for me clearly came across as corp BS but from somebody who has just been told by the higher ups / money men “your job is to sell it, keep the customers happy but we are shuttering these studios, we need the figures - the decision has been made” The total babel she then produces nervously I might add dose the total opposite for most people who will have seen it - instead of appeasing/calming her audience. At least in me the result was an overwhelming urge to stand up and shout “bullshit” — i’m going to guess that is not the response her bosses want. Another very nice peace Nick, good work

I was totally aware of her word salad because it was the subject of this week's Jimquisition episode.

I think if I ever worked for a small or AA studio and found out the studio was being sold to a huge company, I'd look for another job. The pile of dead studios after being bought up by a big name is so much larger than the ones they've kept in tact. The myth of CEOs making money being "job creators" and "risk takers" surely can't survive if they destroy more and more jobs in order to avoid risks for themselves.

Wow was not aware of her horrible non-answer. I was under the impression that there was a poorly thought out plan, didn't realize there wasn't a plan at all.
