U gotta look at it in Joel's point of view. I mean for 20 years they been living in a zombie like apocalypse... for 20 years ! Almost longer then u guys been alive. Of course Joel , and most people would have doubts on a cure even when the evidence is in front them. Joel's been conditioned mentally to that lifestyle. Most people would have doubts on a cure & things going back to normal after living that life every single day for 20 years

But honestly, you can make a Weapon out of almost anything. People stop at nothing, Destroy Forests and kill Animals, manufacture Atomic Bombs. So if they could find a way to make the Fungus as a Weapon, they would too. Sad but True.
