Resistance 2 - Epilogue

In the basement, a thin layer of dust had settled upon the worktable and the broken equipment and fragments of glass on the ground.
The once electrified fencing of the Quarantine Zone hummed no longer, and in some places it hung askew, posts bent or broken altogether.
For better or worse, the resistance was over.

I don't know if it's spoiling anything to say so, but the link between In Heat and The Au Lait Way is that Tiffany became Dr. Roberts! A decent number of people have picked up on that over the years, but initially there was only ONE reader who realized it while I was putting out chapters to The Au Lait Way. In all fairness, there were only very understated references as clues, and I did it mostly for fun. Re: why Erika was eventually targeted and brought down by the authorities: my intent for The Au Lait Way was that once Erika usurped Dr. Roberts' position, she ended up taking the reins and pursuing the exact same path as Dr. Roberts intended to take; hence her 'gazing thoughfully at the sprawling city below', i.e. thoughts of world domination on her mind. The first Resistance storyline serves as segue and conclusion for Erika's subsequent actions. Like Starkiller mentioned, it would have been nice and probably a lot of fun to bring her back in somehow...

2019-04-08 19:47:28 +0000 UTCI caught the loose tie in with the Au Lait Way with the reference to Erika, though I might have missed why the military was after her. It's been awhile since I've read In Heat, so I'm struggling to remember how it might have tied in with your other two stories in the trilogy(?). The only tie in that I can connect from what I remember is the spreading debauchery from Tiffany. Regardless of my faulty memories though your work has been superb and if you decide to write that part 3 in the future, I'd be interested in read it.
