2021-09-17 20:23:19 +0000 UTCSo, all the movies combined are really what happened in the comics for the most part, but just told a little differently. There were love triangles, and Peter was awkward and geeky then confident and actually it got pretty dark at some points, Spidey has been around for 60 years now, so lots of stories have been done. Gwen actually died in the comics and it was a huge moment, a lot of people reacted like you did here. Peter actually went back and forth between MJ and Gwen and they dated other people too. It’s kinda like a soap opera at times. But now you know a lot of the characters from Spider-Man and his history, so you’ll be able to catch most of whatever happens in the new movie. Just remember there are also a lot more characters they haven’t done yet either, both good and bad.

2021-09-17 01:19:41 +0000 UTCSo Sony had plans for at least two more amazing spider-man movies + the Sinister Six (Rhino, Electro, Goblin etc) but in pre production of the third movie, Sony got hacked and emails, scripts and other information got leaked about how Sony had issues with Andrew (Spider-Man) so in panic they hit the reset button and made a deal with Marvel to introduce a new Spider-Man in the MCU and cancel all their own projects in their own Universe (they then restarted it with Venom for some reason) Fun fact.. Mary Jane was originally in this movie played by Shailene Woodley but they cut 20-30 minutes of her and instead wanted to save that for the the third movie to not remove the focus of Emma Stone and Gwen. But with the multiverse now open in the MCU... anything can happen ;)
