Somehow Moff Gideon got it when it was previously held by a Mandalorian. In the last episode, Bo-Katan said she was seeking Moff Gideon. She seemed to be searching for the Darksaber.

2021-01-19 21:05:53 +0000 UTCIt's called a "contrivance" to have the writer manipulate the story to force something to happen. The writer decided to have the Mandalorian not have his jetpack on so that the Dark Troopers could get the child. It didn't make any sense and it's really frustrating. Plus the timing of having Grogu come out of his meditation at just the right time to be captured. Frustrating.
