lost MGC demo: 'friday night'
Added 2022-02-19 23:03:15 +0000 UTCso last night i found a hard drive from when i restarted Miami Garden Club from scratch ....
long story short: in 2015 i had most of an album ready and brought all my music-making stuff with me when i flew home from LA for christmas. unfortunately, i flew back home the week someone decided to steal a fuckload of luggage from LAX, and i lost EVERYTHING.
a lot of my shit had been backed up at the studio i'd been working at, but my executive producer decided to bail right after the suitcase theft for unrelated reasons (fuck that guy). i bought a new hard drive, made the album myself at my dad's house in florida, and eventually the hard drive worked itself to death.
luckily, i carry every beat up broken hard drive with me for the rest of my life, and i have amassed quite a collection. last night i decided to try plugging them each in and seeing what was hidden in them, and my old 2016/2017 hard drive would NOT connect. i laid a tiger's eye crystal on it for a while and asked it if it wanted to work and a few hours later it FINALLY CONNECTED ...... allowed me to back up the entire thing to a working HD,...... and now we have discovered some lost pieces of the album that may have been.
i literally forgot about this song i cant even remember writing it and i am laughing so hard at the whole situation ..... anyway here's one that might have ended up on the original iteration of MGC, if we were in the timeline where i stayed in LA and let my soul be pounded to dust (:
