Greetings All!
This one was a lot of fun, it is obviously based off the rules associated with the Vorpal Sword so leaning into that. I pulled upon the poem and mystery of the Jabberwock, the poem origin of the Vorpal Sword and its Snicker-Snack. So in leaning into it, it got lovingly weird.
It does greater damage if the creature survives due to the layering and painful Madness effects, but also has a chance to summon a Cloaker. The idea of a lone strange wielder of this blade, with a sinister servant hanging from their shoulders as a cloak, really drove it home for me. I really tried to embrace that image with a twisted weapon.
If you are wondering why Indefinite Madness and Short Term Madness, seem flipped. Is that Short Term Madness has 4 outcomes that immediately render them useless in combat. While Indefinite becomes more of a character tick, but doesn’t disrupt combat. Just a small change for smoother use.
I don’t often create end game weapons.. But this one is just weird enough to work.
Hope you enjoy it! Truly as always, thank you all.
