Yay! It's time announce the coming release of Deviant Anomalies X!
A brand new season of Deviant Anomalies. Bigger, better and more horny than ever before!
Months of work finally coming to fruition.
Complete with a free roam open world system, redesign of all our favorite characters and a fully refurbished story. Epic in scale and fun, let's check it out!
First, let's take a look at some preview images of scenes in the game.

It took a lot of time to get the characters looking the way I wanted them to. Learning how to work with the new lights, assets and skins was a whole journey in itself. But I'm extremely happy with the results. I think they look awesome. Adult Games out there are getting better and better so I have to make sure to keep up! Not to mention all the AI shenanigans is getting out of hand!
Not gonna lie, the biggest pressure I felt was not getting the scenes to look good but rather... the design of the characters. I know fans of each character would have mixed feelings about their new look and without a doubt, many would complain because we have grown to love the old characters. But trust me, these designs will grow on you. It did on me!
As you can see the new engine has the opportunity to create very realistic looks but I wanted to keep a semi anime vibe to the characters and I think they turned out really nice. Not to mention, most art made from this engine has a really uncanny look to them if not done right and I had to make sure to avoid that.

I wanted to give them a new feel while still retaining and amplifying their unique characteristics! I swapped out Sophia's baseball bat with a skateboard so that she can skate around town and smash monsters with her trusty skateboard in all her invisible naked awesomeness.
Bear in mind they will have powers so I also spent a lot of time making sure I can make them look good when they full powers are on display. Sage as a pyro looks absolutely mint!

Refurbishing the Steamy Beans cafe and getting their costumes in order was also hell lot of fun. I bought a shit ton of assets and even created many original stuff to ensure we get the look that we want. I wonder, which of these characters are gonna turn out to be favorites?
Now moving on to the actual gameplay and map.

The map is huge and finally, we can explore every nook and cranny in Netherhelm! What puzzles and mystery awaits us around every corner?
I've always wanted to paint a world affected by the snowstorm and now, we don't have to keep describing it and instead, show it to the player, allowing them to feel it themselves. We can finally explore to our hearts content, find clues and talk to people instead of the clicking around like a cheap image finder.
Assets are super expensive but if we're gonna build a true open world RPG experience, there's no space for saving money. Thank god for Patreon, I must have purchased a gazillion assets to redesigned the entire map from scratch. I wanted every screenshot of the game to look interesting with unique happenings around every corner. I think it is money well spent.
I have also taken a lot of time to carefully animate each character and give everyone a unique idle/walking animations to display their quirky personalities! Don't you think Sophia looks super cute buzzing around town?

What's a detective game without detective mechanics? This one gave me a huge headache. I didn't want to just have the player collect clues and continue the game monotonously. I want them to actually think and consider the cases presented to them. It's VERY challenging to do. I wanted player input so that they feel like they solved the case instead of handholding them. But at the same time, it can't be too complicated or hard or the player would get frustrated.
I've finally settled on a fairly simple clue deduction mechanic, which allows the player to put two clues together to make a deduction. However, here's the kicker that makes it really interesting. Once you have enough evidence, you can choose to build a prosecution file on several different suspects. Which is the true culprit? Did you get the right guy? Well, there will be consequences.
I think this is what makes the mechanic really pop. Send the wrong guy to prison? Well that means the killer is still out there and... bad things are gonna happen.

We've also switched to an avatar system using a mix of carefully planned sprites and poses. This allows me to save valuable development time and focus on rendering scenes that truly matter as well as create epic lewds!
You can now interact with various different characters as you explore the world. This gives me really cool old school RPG vibes.
Ever wanted to give characters new clothes or have their bodies change? How about getting characters to follow you around the map, shadow potential suspects or merely observe the characters as they go about their daily lives?
The game implements a ticking clock system similar to games like harvest moon so instead of clicking different times of day, we can experience a full day in Netherhelm in all it's glory!
Wanna invite the girls home for some sexy time? Well, you better buy them gifts every now and then and make sure to chat with them to develop your relationship. How about commanding them to wear maid costumes and do cleaning around the house? Or even better, invite them to the little sneaky dungeon somewhere in the map that you have upgraded and designed! How you play and complete the game is up to you!

All right, I shall end this post right here. It is so satisfying to finally see the game I've been dreaming of come into fruition. All the systems are in place. I can't wait to make an epic trailer and launch the game officially. Not gonna lie, it's quite anxious to see how people would respond to the first release of our brand new season, but that's part of the fun. It's a good excitement.
