I know I said more Petal to the Metal, but I'm on a roll with this fic right now, so it's a tossup what you'll see next. Either more of this or another chapter of that.

My theory is that Ursa either didn’t know the real truth or that Ursa intentionally lied to keep Zuko’s place in the line of succession, since she knew Ozai was scheming to replace Iroh and Azula would have been (and was) a nightmare as Fire Lord. I don’t like the twist in the comics and I’ll go into why during the next chapter, but reinstalling Iroh is my fix to ensure Azula doesn’t inherit.

2022-05-22 20:05:21 +0000 UTCYeah, but… the comics suck. No offense. I’m a-okay with Tenko shifting the parameters a tad so that the really dumb stuff gets taken out, and a few things are left in. At the end of the day, it’s sacrificing a minor detail to make a really good character moment work.
