I've been a busy bee 🐝

I also underestimated how long the courtyard background art would take to complete. A friend of mine I hired to help me with the BG art needs a finished one for an example of the colors and such, so I was like "I'll do the school's courtyard because it's the worst one"..... and yeah. It's the worst one.

Even worse is how much of the BG actually shows up in the gameplay. I drew everything behind the trees and statue too so I can have them separated and moved independently if I needed it.

Sprite art of Daniel and Esther have some color too! But since I wanted to have something to show in an update this month, I could only finish base colors for the sprites and this BG. Also I hired another friend to animate certain scenes that I'm really excited for but that won't be for awhile, I need to finish a lot more art assets first.

Next on my to do list is:

finish the courtyard BG so I can have the color keys for the lighting on sprites and other bgs
finish Daniel and Esther sprites
sketch all bgs within the first variable (x8 BGs)
Update Manny sprites, draw Rosa sprites
rough sketches for placeholder CG art
and NPC placeholder sprites

In the meantime when I'm drawing other stuff, I've been writing up the script and outlining the story beyond this first chapter. I'd like to have choices that affect the narrative to some extent but simple dialogue choices being the only way isn't enough for me. However, I figured out a way aside from from that. 👁️👁️ But I won't spoil what it is.
