Yuna Finished
Added 2016-07-15 14:54:44 +0000 UTCYuna from Final fantasy X/X-2 remains one of my favorite ladies from the franchise to this day. The Final Fantasy series has a proud history of presenting us what I've come to think of as the "harem trio" in every numbered game. By that I mean every game features three female character archetypes: a cute one, a classy one, and a sexy one. This has occurred quite consistently since FF VII, with the only possible exception being FF IX. Freya's personality certainly filled the role of the sexy one, but you'd have to be pretty into anthro girls wearing huge heavy coats to find her all that hot.
Anyhow because of this legacy I was disappointed at first when I heard the upcoming Final fantasy XV features zero female party members in the main cast, rendering the team an unprecedented sausage fest for the series. But upon further reflection I can't really fault the creators for it. I mean, this depiction of Yuna here is from X-2, a game that featured no male party members, so it's not like they haven't pulled this sort of thing before. Though X-2 had a tough as nails lady named Payne, laughable name aside she was pretty much the "guy" on the team and she balanced out the giggly other girls nicely. Makes me wonder if one of the male cast for the upcoming game will have a really girly personality, attempting to balance things out as Payne once did. Time will tell, and as a long time fan of the series I'm sure I'll be picking up the latest installment as soon as it comes out stateside. :)

Well meiwow the reason why you would listen to original a audio is because they can act, the voice acting is superior to the western one. Why do you think fansubs exist? Because it keeps original audio with better translation WITH translator notes that explain the scene you're watching (eg japanese customs/festivals.) Theres even a youtube video of pokemon jap vs english and the acting for the english had NO emotion. Plus english westernises things too much, sushi is called donuts in english dubs. This is why soul calibur was horrid, i mean yeah its so authentic listening to a guy shout out in a californian accent. P.s id rather listen to guile say "somersault" then "flashkick" :)

2016-07-18 03:26:17 +0000 UTCWell I prefer English dubs in games and anime myself, but I do like having the option so switch to Japanese audio if I think the acting is distractingly bad in the dub, which has been known to happen in otherwise good stories.

2016-07-16 17:52:32 +0000 UTCIn my opinion, the only thing that should remain original about a japanese video or videogame is the sex moaning from actresses in case we're talking about an erotic video or a novel sinse dubbed moaning usually sounds crappy as hell. But, actual dialogue, speaking itself? Why the hell would I want to hear a bunch of gibberish that I can't understand so I have to read? Naw.

The bland, humorless version of Cloud they've shaped him into since the original game would never go for that. And while I'm at it, fingers crossed that they replace his voice actor, or at least wake the guy up before he records his lines this time.

Both are common among Japanese storytelling and to my knowledge the former hasn't ever been done in a Final Fantasy game and the latter, famously, was done in FF7.
