The rough script for VC chapter 2!

Violet Crescent Chapter 2: First Contact Script:

We begin where we left off with a montage, with the group deciding to figure out if they can use abilities in this world and taking the time to practice if they can. 

-Will narrating throughout the montage of them practicing abilities: “We decided our first course of action should be to see if we had abilities similar to our characters. As it turns out, we all had every ability our characters did. We just needed focus on what ability we wanted to use, while also focusing on the target we wanted to use it on. We also learned that our casters had a sort of “mana” pool that we couldn’t see but felt like stamina. The more spells or the higher level spells they used, they more tired they felt. Keeping this in mind and once everyone got the hang of their abilities, I lead the group through the woods in hopes of finding some kind of road so we could get to a town or city and figure out a plan of action.”

As it turns out, they can use the abilities their characters could use if they just think of the ability in their mind and focus on a target. Once they get the hang of it, Will leads the group through the trees and eventually comes across what appears to be a trail for caravans and adventures between cities. Trusting Will to make the decision on which way to go, Will looks up to see which way the sun is setting and decides to follow the trail West.

As the group travels, everyone seems to be preoccupied. Micheal is in the back of the group, keeping a close, angry eye on Simon, who is nervously walking hold his staff closely and tightly, seeming to not only be worried about Micheal but also the woods around him as he looks left and right anxiously. 

-Micheal: “You no try nothing Simon. Micheal will destroy you.”

-Simon: “Yeah yeah I know, you don’t have to keep reminding me. To be honest, I’m more worried about what lurks beyond the trees. You never know what monsters can pop up when you’re walking a trail like this.

This causes Micheal to glance around, then grunts as he grabs his weapon tightly.

Hillary, still visibly upset with her form, is looking down at her hands and sniffling. 

-Hilary: “*sniff* Stupid Simon… I can’t believe he did this to me! *sniff* I’m just like a little kid now, I’ve lost my great body!” She looks up and Kylie and Kathryn in front of her who don’t notice her at the moment. “Meanwhile those two get to keep theirs. And even Will looks hot now! This is so.. *sniff* so stupid! Why me?!”

Right in front of her, we have Kathryn and Kylie who seem to be secretly conversing and giggling between each other as they look at Will who’s still leading. Will, knowing they’re gossiping about him, tries to ignore them, but looks visibly annoyed. Eventually he turns around, frustrated, and everyone stops to look at him, Kylie and Kathryn almost seeming to jump at attention, standing there nervously, and instantly stop talking. Will marches over towards them and stands in front of them, arms crossed, and looks UP at them (He’s now shorter than both girls). This causes them both to giggle slightly as the once tall, strong, and intimidating warrior tank of the group is now a short, very feminine, and cute warrior (We see the vision of him before the change as he looks very strong, then that vision poofs into a new image of him looking very cute and adorable in his new form which is what causes them to giggle as they both think of this vision). This only frustrates him more and they again both stop giggling and stand at attention.

-Will: “Is there something you two want to tell me…?”

Kathryn and Kylie both look to each other, then back to Will.

-Kathryn/Kylie: “Nope!”

Will glares at both of them individually, then chuckles himself, smiles, and hugs them both. They all share a little sweet moment of a group hug, and Will leaves and continues to lead the group. Once he’s alone in the front, he takes a look down at his hands and his new form. He let’s out a sigh.

-Will: “I guess this is the new me until we get this thing figured out and stop that hooded guy.”

He clinches his fist as he says this. Shortly after he trips over a rock and stumbles a little bit, catching himself before he falls. However, this stumble forces him to notice the jiggle of his chest, which causes him to blush. He quickly regains his composure though, coughs to try and brush the unfamiliar and uncomfortable feeling off, and moves on.

Time skips to night time with the group still trying to press onward in hopes of finding a town of some kind. Suddenly, there is a crack in a nearby brush and Will raises his hand to stop the group to listen. The rest of the group readies their weapons and starts looking around. Kylie stands in front of Kathryn to protect her, Hillary runs to Micheal and Simon who both stand side by side (Simon still looking nervous but determined to fight if he must and Micheal looking angry and ready for a fight) and Will, the most calm of the group, slowly steps back toward Kylie and Kathryn, listening closely to his surroundings. As he reaches them, he motions for the group to make their defensive formation by waving his hand around in a circle while holding 2 fingers up. As soon as they do, (which is Micheal looking at one side of the road looking into the woods, Will on the opposite side looking into the woods, and the other 4 inbetween them looking everywhere else) A sudden yell is heard from Will’s side of the woods and a goblin jumps out. Not long after, many more goblins jump out of the woods, weapons at the ready, and they charge at the group.

-Will: “We got company! Goblins! Get ready everyone!”

The group prepares for battle, with everyone getting into a combat position. Will glances back and sees, this, and smiles.

-Will thinking to himself: “Heh, we might just be alright in this world.”

Before he can look back, things start to spiral out of control. Micheal, letting his barbarian rage take over, rushes toward the goblins. 

-Will: “Micheal come back! Get back in formation man!”

Micheal starts swinging his weapon wildly while screaming, hitting one goblin but missing the others. Several of the goblins jump on him and start attacking him with their wooden clubs. He tries to pull them off, managing to pull a few off but only for more to jump back on him. He eventually collapses, struggling to fend them all off.

Will looks back and sees about 6 goblins charging from his direction. He readies his shield and sword and begins to try and take charge.

-Will: “Okay! Simon, shoot those goblins off Micheal!

-Simon: “Got it.” 

Simon, still slightly shaking from the nervousness, shoots out a fireball from his left hand. He misses and some of the goblins laugh. This frustrates Simon and he continues to shoot fireballs and continues to miss. Will, noticing this, quickly looks to Hillary who is cowering by Kylie and Kathryn.

-Will: “Hillary! Go help Micheal and try to help get those goblins off him!

Hillary seems to not hear Will, too frightened to do anything and curls up in a ball, crying, and covering her ears.

-Will: “Hillary! We need you come on!”

Still no response from Hillary.

-Will: “Shit! Alright, Kylie, protect Kathryn and Hillary and try to support Simon in getting those Goblins off Micheal!

-Kylie: “Alright, on it!”

Kylie faces the other direction and start sprouting bramble thorn vines from the ground that grab at the goblins but also Micheal by accident and causes him to scream in pain.

-Kylie: “Ah I’m sorry Micheal! I’m trying to help!”

Kathryn, trying to heal Micheal, looks over to Will who’s about to engage the goblins. She looks at the goblins and notices he’s facing more than half the goblins alone.

-Kathryn: “Will, d-do you want me to help you?”

Will looks back one last time, noticing Kathryn also shaking uncontrollably and the group struggling with the goblins on their side. He looks to Kathryn and smiles gently.

-Will: “Don’t worry about me Kathryn. You just help the others and once you finish those goblins off, then come help me.

Will then turns back to the goblins and charges. He starts hitting his shield with his sword as he runs into the brush, which causes all of the goblins on his side to follow him, almost as him he’s using some sort of Taunt ability. He and goblins disappear into the brush. Kathryn, seeming to feel more confident after seeing Will’s calm smile and seeing most of the goblins gone, turns back to Kylie. She walks up to her and places her hand on her shoulder, her hand glowing with holy light. Kylie looks over to her and smiles. She takes a deep breath and, looking much more focused, uses her brambles to pull the goblins off Micheal without hurting him anymore. Kathryn then rushes to Simon and places her hand on his shoulder, which seems to startle him a little at first, but then he too seems more focused. He looks over to Kathryn.

-Simon: “Thanks. I don’t know what you did but I feel like I can go on a kill streak now!”

Simon looks toward the Goblins again and is now able to shoot his fireballs with deadly accuracy. He’s able to shoot down 3 in a row. Micheal then stands up and looks at the group, seeing them focused and working together. He smirks, and looks back at the Goblins, who are now starting to look scared as they see these brambles and fireballs kill them one by one in quick succession, and now they have this towering barbarian who looks ready to kill them all. As Micheal starts swinging his weapon more more accurately now, hitting a Goblin with every swing, the Goblins start to question if they should continue fighting. Kathryn runs over the Hillary, who’s still in a ball extremely scared, and falls to the ground to hold her tightly. Both of her hands now are glowing with holy light, and Hillary, now held tightly against Kathryn’s chest, opens her eyes and, feeling the loving comfort of a friend and this light, hugs Kathryn back tightly. 

-Hillary: Thank you, Kathryn. You’re… You’re a true friend. And I’m… I’m sorry.”

She backs out of the hug and looks up to Kathryn, who with small tears in her eyes looks back at her with a smile. Hillary stands up, wipes her tears away, and charges into the Goblins with both of her daggers out. She jumps between some trees to gain some height and jumps down, landing on a Goblin and killing it. She then goes on a killing spree, killing Goblins left and right by jumping over them, rolling around, and spinning around throwing daggers. Micheal sees this and stops for a moment. Hillary sees him, smiles and winks at him before killing another goblin without even looking. Micheal smirks at this and continues to kill the Goblins with her. Seeing their comrades getting destroyed, the remaining goblins drop their weapons and flee deeper into the woods.

They regroup on the trail, and after looking at each other for a moment, fall to the ground and laugh. 

-Micheal: “That was fun fight! Want to kill more!”

-Kylie: “I’m sure we’ll find more big guy, but let’s take a break and rest for a bit!”

-Simon: “My fire blasts seemed rather effective, wouldn’t you agree?”

-Hillary: “They did! Did you see my twirl around?! I was so cool! I felt so light and wow! That was crazy!”

Micheal is a little bruised and has a few scratches, but has no serious wounds. Kathryn is sitting next to him, healing what few wounds he has as she looks at the group smiling. However, she looks around and notice someone is missing. She quickly stands up and horror, the group all looks at her with a confusing look.

-Kathryn: “Guys… Where’s Will..?!”

The group all gets a look of horror on their face, especially Kylie. They were too distracted with their victory and conversation to notice Will hadn’t returned from the brush on the other side yet. They all get up and look over to the brush on the other side of the trail as their fight, where Will ran off into. Suddenly, they hear a scream of pain… Coming from Will.

-Kylie: “WILL!”

She rushes into the brush in the direction of Will’s scream, and the rest of the group quickly follows.

After hastily going through the thick brush, they reach an opening. We first see Kathryn as the last to come through and she looks at the group, who are all standing there, looking at something. Kathryn walks up, clinching her staff.

-Kathryn: “What’s going on guys? Did you find W-“

She asks them as she walks up in-between them and pauses mid sentence. We see her staff drop to the ground, then her covering her mouth as she gasps, tears begin to fall down her cheeks.

Standing there, in the middle of this opening, is a very bloodied Will… surrounded by tens of Goblins (much more than the rest of the group barely managed to kill working together). Heavily panting, he lifts his sword from a dead Goblin, then he pulls a small dagger out of his arm, once again grunting with pain. He slowly turns toward the group, still heavily panting, showing many deep wounds and cuts, as well as many bruises. He smiles, seeing them all alive and well. He takes a few steps towards them, slightly limping from a deep wound in his left leg.

-Will: “I’m glad… you’re all… alright…I knew… you all… Could… could…”

He reaches Kathryn and Kylie, who are both standing there with their mouths covered by their hands with tears streaming down their faces. Will collapses, falling unconscious. Kylie barely manages to catch him before he hits the ground and lays his head on her lap. Brushing his long hair out of his face and looking up to Kathryn, tears flowing down her face now.

-Kylie: “Kathryn! Please heal him, quick!!”

Kathryn stands there, shocked and scared at the horrifying sight of Will’s very poor condition.

-Kylie: “KATHRYN!!!”

Kathryn snaps out of it and quickly kneels down next to Will and begins to heal him as best as she can. She look up at Kylie who’s looking down at Will, holding his cheek and crying. Her tears falling on Will’s cheeks. The rest of the group stands around them. Hillary notices Micheal walk away toward the dead Goblins and walks over to him. She tugs on his pant leg and he looks down, then back at the Goblins.

-Hillary: “You think… you think he’s going to be okay..?”

-Micheal: “Kathryn good healer. Going to keep Will alive, Micheal knows it.”

Micheal falls into a sitting position, covering his face with his hands. Hillary climb onto his shoulder on sits, patting his head.

-Hillary: “It’s okay Micheal, we’re going to find a town and get this figured out!”

-Micheal: “This all Micheal’s fault. If Micheal didn’t rush off and just listened to Will…”

Micheal uncovers his hands and looks back toward Will and the others, then back forward to the ground. He slams his fists into the ground, causing Hillary to be lifted up a little bit from she sheer force of it. Un-phased however, she continues to pat his head.

-Micheal: “If Micheal didn’t rush off and just listened to Will, he wouldn’t be hurt. Is all Micheal’s fault…”

Tears start to fall down Micheal’s face, but Hillary wipes them away. She then jumps down and hugs Micheal’s arm tightly, tears forming in her eyes now too.

-Hillary: “It’s my fault too, I didn’t listen and was being selfish.”

He looks over to her, and she looks back up to him.

-Hillary: “But from now on, I’m going to be a team player and help everyone as they helped me!”

Micheal smiles, and stands back up, lifting her onto his shoulder again. He walks back over toward Will and the others. 

Some time has passed, and the first thing we see is the Crescent moon in the night sky. Shortly after, we see Kathryn stand up, sweating and tired, wiping the sweat off her face. We then see Will, still on Kylie’s lap, almost completely healed despite some bruises and small scars where the deep wounds used to be. He’s sleeping soundly with a smile on his face. His head still laying on Kylie’s lap who’s now also smiling, combing her fingers through his hair. She then lifts him up a little to give him a gentle but long kiss on the lips (despite him now being a girl, we can tell she still deeply loves him). She looks back up to Kathryn.

-Kylie: “Thank you Kathryn. I’m so glad you’re here with us.”

Kathryn leans down and pats Kylie’s shoulder and nods. Kylie then goes back to looking at Will and brushing his hair while Kathryn faces the rest of the group, who are all looking to her expectantly. She looks up at the night sky, seeing the moon.

-Kathryn thinking to herself: “Oh Will… What would you do if you were awake right now?”

Kathryn then notices something. Some smoke and light coming from beyond the trees. The group then gathers, Micheal carrying Will in his arms with Kylie walking beside him holding one of Will’s hands. They all follow Kathryn toward the smoke and light, and after traveling a little ways, they come to an opening As soon as they all walk out, they see where the light and smoke were coming from: A town! They have finally reached a town! They all cheer excitedly, Kylie just smiling and holding onto Will’s hand more tightly as she holds her other hand to her chest in relief. Kathryn, also smiling, looks over to Will who’s still sleeping in Micheal’s arms.

-Kathryn: “You did it Will! You helped us get to our first town! Everything is going to be okay now thanks to you!”

The last scene we see is a close-up of Will’s sleeping face, still smiling.
