Monthly Update - June 2021
Added 2021-06-24 05:41:20 +0000 UTCWhere did June go?? It's hard to believe the month is almost over already! Here's the latest from Beauty-land, with a bit of a different tone this month. Things have been something of a struggle for me lately and I talk about that here. I'll let you all know what's been going on with me and what you can expect coming up. Audio updates, a brief update on the writers' event, and lots more are discussed, so enter at your own risk!
These are just my thoughts and opinions, as always, and I don't expect anyone to agree or take them as fact. Just putting that out there. 💜

Oh I *seeeee*. With that hint, now I'm thinking More Than Meets the Eye. It'll be fun to find out next month (and to hear your new experiment). You're right, the airhead thing can have some real comic potential. Way to hone those comic chops indeed! And you still deny being funny sometimes, tsk tsk....

2021-06-29 16:06:36 +0000 UTCThese periods are disheatening but you're right, Fix. They're unavoidable. I keep telling myself that anyway. I always appreciate you being in my corner. That helps. 😊😊 Ditzy isn't something I do very often, but funny enough, one of my favourite stage roles was a complete airhead and she was a delight to play. She was hilarious, too, which gave me the chance to play with comedic timing and line delivery in a way that my "typical" character type doesn't. The character in the massage audio isn't quite that charming or witty, but she's definitely not the brightest bulb in the box, you know? Those characters are harder to improv, too, because the dialogue has to be done a certain way and avoid any kind of real depth from a topic standpoint. This one was deliberate for this situation and was created to allow the scene to unfold the way it needed to. It's very much about the people, which I agree is where the sexy comes from. I hope you like what you hear when I release it. 😁😁 At the risk of writing my own mini-essay, I'll say good guess on the audio series, but not quite! This one might be harder to guess because it's not a GWA release, so the platform limits the exposure of the audio to the broader audience. I'll let everyone know in July's update which series it is. This one might be a tough guess as it wasn't a GWA release. Apparently I just like using obscure references to my own work. 😁 I'll have to let everyone know in next month's update, won't I? The massage audio will be showing up on Patreon in July sometime as a bonus release. Hopefully it's worth the hype! 💜💜

2021-06-29 03:49:11 +0000 UTC[sigh] ah, the classic artist's plateau. Strange, impossible to explain, and worst of all unavoidable. But they do pass. It's great that you're still jazzed to keep going as life allows. We'll still be on your side however you get past it (and you will). Of all the modes you could have, I have to say Ditzy Beauty is not one I ever would have imagined. You + massage is a combo I probably couldn't resist, though, and I love how it's about the people more than the premise (which is just about always the key to the sexiness in my book). It sounds like you did everything right and wouldn't have needed to second-guess or pull anything. Agreed, however, that erring on the side of care & respect is always best. New Suits was also my guess for that past comparison. Maybe not as tomboyish as the Dude It's Just girl, but I suppose there's one friend who keeps holding back for one reason or another (for a while), etc. You've got another fascinating friendship dynamic at work, so no doubt it'll lead to the proper ending as it grows. Yikes, I didn't mean to make this a mini-essay, so I'l leave it there and just say, you're awesome and you got this.

I’m sorry to hear you haven’t been in a great headspace 😢 Just know it’s completely normal to feel these lulls of stagnation, and that you’ll surely regain a more positive state of mind and sense of creative energy soon. Go easy on yourself, we’ll be there to support you no matter what 🙂 Taking a wild guess here, but is the series you were referencing the “Get a New Suit” one? The character in that one had sort of awkward, tomboyish vibes too, and I can envision how the final part of that series could inspire the next part of the “Dude” series. On the note of the masseuse audio, I fully agree with your perspective on the matter. You had tagged the audio correctly – that’s where any and all debate should end IMO. I do hope you reupload the audio on some platform soon, it sounds incredible 😄
