I had applied to hostess at Tiki Oasis this year since I'm enduring plantar fasciitis in my right foot. I'm on CBD because the "extra-strength" drugs my doctor prescribed do nothing for the pain. (Natural redhead and all that.) I rest, ice, compress, tape and exercise my foot to help it heal.
I got notice after most of the shifts were filled. I'm a hostess (checking people in) twice and go-go dancing twice. I'm excited to get back on the go-go pony after some time away, but I don't know that my foot is as excited. In addition to the rest of the treatment, I'll be working on my endurance so I can give my best to the audience during those dance shifts while reducing risk of further pain.
I'm working on outfits for Tiki Oasis because why wouldn't I? I'm making a mockup of a Jane Mansfield-style playsuit with some bright coral fabric I couldn't use for something else. Since I haven't had to make any fitting adjustments to this point, I'm just going to turn the mockup into yet another outfit. It takes very few steps to complete the whole thing.
I was sitting at my sewing machine yesterday, staring at this loud fabric, and an insane idea hit me. I could add a small hat, gauntlets with fringe, and black tights, evolving from a simple dancer into a flamingo. Oh shit! I can flamingo-go! So, this is now something I'm doing because I'm crazy.
Now, I'm not going full flamingo with feathered wings and all that. It's going to be a little less distracting than that. Maybe.
I've booked a tiki shoot while I'm in San Diego and I have no idea what to wear. (This is how I wind up naked so often when I shoot.)
Thank you for the support!
