The Sigil Sanctum - First Floor

Hey everyone!

I’ve got a fun little surprise for you all. Remember how we skipped over the Sigil Sanctum back in Chapter 2 of the Vecna: Eve of Ruin module? Well, at the time, I left it out since there wasn’t an encounter there. But a bunch of you reached out and said, “Hey, what if the betrayal reveal happens earlier?” Like, if the wizard turns out to be Kas in disguise sooner than expected, then suddenly this location becomes pretty relevant!

For those who might not know, this is a special sanctuary, specifically "The Wizards Three" in this adventure. It’s a unique place—truly something special—that you can actually weave into any campaign, even if you’re not running Vecna.

So I started working on the lower level of the Sanctum, and I have to say, I just fell in love with the vibe of this wizardly safe space.

The first level is already done, and I’m really pleased with how it turned out. I’ll add four more rooms and an upper floor, and will also be releasing an alternate version where the lower-level library is in a collapsed state. In Chapter 10 of the module, when the fake Mordenkainen reveals himself as Kas the Betrayer, there’s a chance for an epic battle right there in the Sigil Sanctum. So you’ll have both a pristine and a ruined version to play with!

Keep an eye on how beautifully the marble floor’s colors shift in the video. It gives the whole place a really magical vibe. And don’t miss how the flowers bloom so gracefully in that little enchanted garden. The portal adds a nice bit of magic to the scene, too.
