Three Moons Vault Castle Complete (Vecna: Eve of Ruin D&D Fan Content)

I’m happy to let you know that the final part of the Three Moons Vault Castle (for Chapter 6: Night of Blue Fire from Vecna: Eve of Ruin) is now complete and available.

This one was a big project—probably one of the most scene-heavy locations I’ve tackled so far in the module. I tried to stay faithful to the adventure and use camera angles that were most DM-friendly.

Red Tower, Barrack, Armory, Royal Quarters, and Red Lunarium

White Tower Ruins, Rookery, Veteran Camp, White Tower Lookout, Ruined Shrine, and White Lunarium:

Black Tower: Temple, Circle of Undeath, Akaazi’s Quarters, Aviary, and Black Lunarium, Drawbridge, Lookout Turret

Thanks, as always, for your patience and support throughout the process. I know this one took a bit longer, but I hope it gives you and your players something memorable to explore. And if you’re adapting it outside of Vecna: Eve of Ruin, there’s plenty here to use as a standalone arcane fortress in your own stories.

The castle consists of many separate areas, and each tower and its connected sections are available as individual ZIP files. To help keep things manageable, each ZIP includes all versions: 40-grid, 50-grid, gridless, walls for Foundry, the static, and webm versions.

Given the scale of the project, the whole package ended up being quite large — several gigabytes in total. So, after downloading, I recommend keeping only the versions you plan to use in your game to save space.

The interpretation of the castle:

"The meteorites’ impact formed craters throughout the Northern Dargaard Mountains. Ancient, moon-venerating wardens chose one of these craters as the site for a shrine where they could revere Krynn’s moons. The wardens built three magical towers: a spacious white tower for Solinari, a handsome red tower for Lunitari, and a solemn black tower for Nuitari."

Getting into the castle:

The castle can be accessed not only via the drawbridge (V21), but also via three access points from the dungeon below.

• The stairwell in the small building next to the Red Tower (V32) connects to area 9 below.

• V17: White Tower Ruins can be accessed via a spiral staircase from area 16, which I have mapped on the dungeon map, since it is an underground room.

• The Temple (V35) can be accessed on the north staircase from area 10 of the dungeon level.

Moonbridges and the moondisc

The moonbridges and moondisk (U4 and U5) are made of solid moonlight that shimmers like opalescent glass. If the moonlight shifts, areas of solid moonlight—including the moondisk, moonbridges, and barriers around the lunarium daises—instantly dissolve. Any creature standing on one of these surfaces falls to the courtyard 100 feet below.
