Cannon free or armed with cannons?

Let's figure this out together.

Spirited by ghosts? Attacked by pirates? Night and storm-tossed versions, lower levels,  moored at waterside town docks, trapped in whirlpool or sinking? I'm so ready to make all of these and more, but I won't be able to create cannon free versions for all, so VOTE now!

I also want to know which versions you want the most, so don't hesitate to share your ideas, please add a comment below!

In the meantime, I'm working on city walls, also on misty and wilderness encounter scenes, and the other most voted themes are not forgotten either. Plain open sea maps in the new style are also coming. Thank you for your vote and your generous support!

Coming this week with day and night versions, and props.

Dynamic Dungeons

cannon free for sure

Eric Smith

I would love to see fortified walls (stone, rock, wooden sharpened stacks. With pathways and gates. And orc strong holds.

Walter MacVane

Ghosts would be amazing.

Ryan Hipp

Agreed. When the cannons are props, that leaves room for lower-tech options like ballistae with giant harpoons, trebuchet, etc.

Daniel Greenberg

I'll start by saying your maps are amazing! Sometime in the future, could we get more desert scenes? A little or much sand blowing? Maybe a pyramid or desert tomb? Thank you for everything you're providing us.

Benjamin Kohl

+1 for Balistas :-)

Bruno Marcon

I agree, but it won't work on the animated map with a rocking ship. Again, I think it would make more sense to play on if the deck of the ship was steady and the map rocked around that point (rather than pivoting about sea level).

Shaun

Lower decks are much more important then anything in the list to run a proper sea camaign. I wonder if we can have different levels of sideway movement. I'd love to arrange these in a 5x3 story matrix and switch between them as the storm intensifies.

Áron

Is it possible to make the ship modular?

Rinzler

I agree with what others have said. I can add the cannons as props if I want, but if they're part of the map, then there's not much I can do with them. Can't even really turn them on the pirates if they're fixed as part of the image. I can also swap out the cannons with ballistas if I don't have gun powder in my campaign as long as you leave the cannons out of the images...

Mr. Transcended

Yeah, cannons / balistae as props would be great and this would add variety to it. Ghosts and also night and storm scenes would be awesome.

Rainer Rösch

Anything on an open deck should just be a prop.

Aaron Morgan

Cannons could be an asset people could add to it if they wanted maybe?

Arcadian Phoenix

But a few ballista's are always welcome.

Edvard Gooijenga

Might be cool to have a map with the opposite decks of two ships down the middle with 10-15 feet of water between them for ship to ship battles. At some point could make the other ‘half’ of each ship to make a 3 map ship to ship boarding battle.

Both 😬

Kevin Richards

Props for sure. To you and the cannons. Thanks!

Denny Wright

Yes, ballista props and other siege weapons would be great too!!

Brian Mc

Easy to add cannons as props, very difficult to take them away... I second the Arkenforge recommendation.

Loyd Blankenship

Had a fun encounter where the party turned the cannons in the pirates.

Ryan Dornan

Maybe ballista props....We have no "gunpowder" in d&d settings

Andrea Russo

For my Eberron campaign, I would love to have cannon-sized wands; The visual effects of a lightning bolt or a fireball wand would be fun!

Michael Bakula

Yeah.. create cannons as an added pic we can add to the scene. That way we can control the number of cannons etc

I play with cannons - there is simply something wrong, if ships dont have cannons. If no cannons win, I support it, cannon props will work - maybe rock the ships a little less, if props cannot follow ship movement :D

Jesper

The entire ship will be available as a huge png prop, also the cannons.

Dynamic Dungeons

Cannons as high res png would be great but ship deck would have to be static too. Arkenforge is great for overlaying images on videos.

Brent Winters

Great!

Björn Sundell

The ship is 4k now, the water is fullHD.

Dynamic Dungeons

The plain open sea scene with the ship as a png prop can be a solution for this.

Dynamic Dungeons

Would love it in 4K resolution.

Björn Sundell

I'd love to see a ghost boat version. Even if it was just a little misty, that would be amazing.

Oh and keep the boat from moving. Just the water and maybe the rigging should move. Otherwise it looks weird with minis on top.

Joel Medina

I can easily export cannon prop, also a ballista, but those will be stationary on the screen. Still useful I think.

Dynamic Dungeons

Cannon free but the probs to place them by ourselves would be really great

Robert Ehelebe

But make sure we can add them as props.

Joel Medina
