TROPICAL ENCOUNTERS (Cg Complete Pack)

Hope you like this new map pack where you will find 3 beautiful tropical/jungle locations + a versatile plain scene. Alongside the night version, you as a CG-level patron have an exclusive canyon scene with a swinging rope bridge.

Like the broadleaf forest maps, and the modular dungeon and cave elements, these locations  will continue to expand, and I will also create static and animated props for these themes so that you can create unique locations on versatile backgrounds.  Among these are ruins and plants.  In this pack I introduce the so called .animation files. ".animation" is a container of a sprite sheet of png files and a xml file, that work together as a short 2D animation which gives much better quality and colour depth comparing to gifs for less GPU usage. This pack contains a palm tree with and without shadow and few rocks and a yucca (static png) that fit well to the plain scene I included in this set for CG Patrons. These are experimental examples, more will come.

(You can drag and drop these files to the Editor or the Manager window. I suggest to turn off the global shadow for the shadowed props and pull the back fps to to 14-16 for the best looking result. Attribution: Fall Field Crickets sound file was used in the plain version. recording by naturenutt. )

(Props are included to cover the bridge :) Yes, you are right, an animated bridge prop would have been better than these static covering props, but all of the scenes were already rendered when I realised that we need an alternate version without the rope bridge. )

DD Editor is in constant development and will soon include audio and video props. A prop hiearchy window will let us easily set up and edit a scene and there will be also a separate ambient layer where ambient sounds and weather can be adjusted.  With the new prop management option and the ambient layer a super-customizable modular system can be developed. Thank you for your patience during this development and your generous support which makes all this happen.

I'm expanding the modular cave sets and working on a unique flesh dungeon (see the lens footage), all of these will be out before the end of this month, stay tuned!

TROPICAL ENCOUNTERS (Cg Complete Pack)

Comments

HA HA! I'm running the isle of Dread and this is exactly what I need. Of course I need to build my table first. I haven't been this guidy in years.

Forgot to mention this sooner and sorry if someone already brought it up and I missed it. The animated palm tree in this pack causes an insane about of lag and DD to almost crash when I open the category it is in within DD. I don't know if this is something only I'm dealing with but nothing else causes this.

Awesome work chief! I have one question about the editor - I am considering buying but because I play over the Internet, I've been using your maps on Foundry VTT - is it possible to editor maps into mp4/webm files for that platform?

John Hodson

Pretty sure I have this version installed now. I'll double-check, though. Thanks!

Mike Chinakos

Thanks James for the confirmation! I cannot wait to get everything up and running for my games. :-)

Not for me alas. I badly want a clear youtube tutorial.

new editor works like a charm on windows

Adam Kaupisch

Hi Steve I use a 40’ tv setup and it works perfectly; almost an exact scaling to the gridded maps. So you should have no troubles in that regard.

James M

As always, the maps are phenomenal! Indeed the best animated maps I've seen on Patreon. The only thing that bums me out is that I haven't downloaded a version of the map editor that has yet to work well with Windows. I'm hoping this latest version works (I did pay for the editor, and would love to take advantage of its features). Again, I do love the maps! And my players do too!

Mike Chinakos

That's great! Any feedback on how these files view on a 40inch screen? Do the grids using line up well with minis on that size?

I was alerting you in case it affected others in different tiers as well. Just trying to give a heads up. Speedy reply!

Looney Studios

Thank you for the feedback and the support, Steven. I plan to release scifi themed maps on the DD website when it’ll be ready, hopefully this autumn. Send me the description of the problems with the DD Editor and Player by email to dynamicdungeons@gmail.com

Dynamic Dungeons

Oh Dynamic Dungeon team, if you guys would like, I can send you all of the files how organized them, so that you can create a more efficient distribution system for new CG members. I had to go post by post and download them one at a time. Not complaining, I was also thinking helping you with system. For example, you could put them on a secured FTP or putting it on Amazon S3 Bucket. Just some thoughts. Thanks again for all the hard work and amazing content :-)

Thank you Dynamic Dungeons team for yet again an amazing series of maps! I'm a recent CG patreon member, and just finished downloading and organizing all of the CG collections into folders. I also purchased the 3.0 Editor. I'm having a few issues with it, but it might be my fault, so I'll hold off on feedback until I test it more. Is there an email for bug reporting? Do these files work well with a 40inch TV? I'm have a custom TV Game Case made for me right now. I was also throwing out a vote for some SciFi scenery for games like Starfinder!

I think I forgot to set the access, but remember that there is everything packed in the complete pack, which means you don’t need to browse through other posts to have everything I released.

Dynamic Dungeons

I am having the same issue, I am at $5 tier and not able to view the $2 and $3 tiers.

I now want to place the ship in the river!

Gene & Linnea

For some reason the Patreon Posts for the $2 and $3 Tiers are not allowing me to view even though I am at the $5 Tier.

Looney Studios

This is beautiful. Now I just need a hook to send my players in search of a tropical location.

ooooh this is very sexy. Im lovin the looks of the swaying bridge <3

That's excellent my players are about to head into a jungle

Can’t wait to grab it and add it to the set.

Frank

thanks a lot for your amazing work!!

It would be nice if you make a river as a prop, there are much maps that a river prop fits perfectly.

Thank you! Google makes it all the time with my particle effects and animations, check it again please, I just reuploaded it as an archive.

Dynamic Dungeons

love it, but when extracting the palm tree animations it says it is password locked (cannot send picture because my laptop is set on swedish)
