Can it actually be happening? Thorfinn gets to go home? Is his home still there?

The age old question, "Is it better to be feared or loved/respected?" Personally, I think it depends on the situation, but in Canute's situation, it's definitely the latter. When he used fear and an iron grip, resentment grew among the people he was subjugating. When he relinquished his control, a new relationship grew between him and those he ruled across the sea. With all that Thorfinn and Einar have gone through, they are indeed brothers and not just friends. They've carved themselves into each other's lives and I love that this episode ended on a hopeful note 🥹🥹🥹

Thorfin and Einar calling each other brother will always hit me as much as it did the first time. The funny part about Vinland is that no matter how season 2 was it gets topped by what happens next, I can't wait to see it animated.

And through all this sadness and pain, we finally have hope, and that gets me at my emotions like nothing else! They switched up some moments and scenes from the original manga, as well as expanded on some, all for the betterment, I think! Though as a manga first guy the difference makes me feel slightly weird, hah! As well as some changes in tone here and there. At the goodbye at the dock, Thorfinn's face was swollen up, having trouble speaking clearly, mostly played as a joke, as well as acting all bashful from Olmar's declaration of becoming like him. I love it in the manga, but the change fits the tone of the episode much more.
