When Thorfinn swears off violence and vows to be reborn, Einar responds "I don't really get it, but I hear you." This is really beautiful friendship to me. Einar can never really understand Thorfinn's perspective because their life experiences have been so different, but he offers his unwavering support nonetheless. As if to say, "I can't stand in your shoes, but I can definitely stand beside you in solidarity."
