In a previous episode Ed and Al think their souls are connected, which is why ed has to eat and sleep more often because hes also nourishing al's body and why ed is so short

2025-05-15 18:31:44 +0000 UTCRemember back when Ed and Al did human transmutation, they got all elements on the human body but also needed "soul's data" to try to bring their mom back ... and they used their own blood (cuz they're their sons) ... so maybe their souls ended up actually being linked in some way ... that's why Ed almost dying (his sould energy almost fadding away?) made also Al's soul to get "wekeaned" causing him to also get knoecked

2025-05-15 17:25:34 +0000 UTCI found out recently, During the part when Ed injured in the mine, the author Hiromu Arakawa was actually pregnant when she wrote that scene. Apparently, she used her own experience of pain during pregnancy to portray what Ed was going through. she drew from the physical and emotional intensity she felt at the time. I thought that was a really powerful detail — makes the scene hit even harder knowing it came from something so personal.
