serie really loved flamme but she is a elf, she doesn’t know her feelings.

Damn that Serie flashback with tiny Flamme got me again🥲

To add onto an earlier comment with Sense having that terrifying ability, it's because she's a pacifist i think that is why her copy is doing what she's doing. If you really think about it all of the mages she's attacked so far haven't been a fatal injury, they've always had the time given to break their bottle. I'm sure if she really wanted to kill someone she easily could've done so but the fact that it's mimicking the mind of the person it holds back just enough to deal some serious injuries but never out right killing the mage as she's stated in the past that she dislikes seeing mages with potential dying for nothing.

Ngl, if you love the music and visuals in this, Violet Evergarden is a show you guys must watch for sooooo many reasons (the same person who does the music in Frieren does Violet Evergarden)

Same here.

"Mere" 😭❤️ We wish it wasn't coming to an end soon!

I love the subtle story telling they do in this show. Sense and her replica are such a good example. Sense says she's a passivist (and she probably is) but her replica fights in a way that makes you wonder if she wasn't always a passivist. She's so scary and so good at killing.

Serie is one of the most interesting characters to me, that I've seen in anime in quite some time. Thinking about her, the things she says and does is very fun and feels like peeling of layers of an onion

Serie is a complex character, many people get her wrong but Im glad to see you were able to look beyond the veneer of coldness. Deep down she loved both Flamme and all her students but she lacks the experiences Frieren learned on her journey of emotional self-discovery. She might say stuff that appears aloof and dismissive but her actions often contradict that, after all she became the head of the magic association as Flamme wanted her to.

oh now we doing real magic

Why do I still feel things from this show!??!?!

This episode went by so fast😫

A mere 1 week left of this beautiful journey that you two went on. You thought we tricked you, but it was well worth every second.

One of my favorite episodes in all anime !

Serie is a classic tsundere - essentially an anime archetype of someone who is overtly cold or even hostile to others, but actually does have a heart of gold/is a total softie. When she says things like “Flamme was such a disappointment” with a giant smile on her face, surrounded in a field of flowers that was created by Flamme’s favorite spell, we know she’s FULL of 🧢. She just can’t openly admit how she feels.

in ep19 during fern vs ehre.. fern mentions that she was only taught only basic spell for combat "its enough to defeat mages of this era"... in this episode, weve seen what kind of magic frieren can actually cast.. and shes right.. it seems that those spells may be overkill if taught to fern.. 💃🏻 one thing i love about this episode is how the director/author allows a perfect moment of pause when serie said "you either will be killed by demon king..." and to let us the audience to guess the next lines.. my first experience watching this scene imagining fern killing frieren before serie finished her sentence was such a glorious goosebumps..

“After all, no one knows better than me just how frightening I can be” is truly such a flex

Really into Carissa’s cozy winter vibes today!

No New German vocab this episode :) Btw, both Flamme and Serie are pronounced with a "schwa" sound at the end, like the a in about. So divided into syllables it's Fla(m)-me and Se-ri-e and not Flamm and Se-rie

There seems to be a contrast of philosophy here between two elves. Frieren facing forward, excited by what comes next. While Serie turns her back from light, reluctant to face the truth she knows so well. They both lost someone significant in their lives at that moment. Yet one chose to embrace possibilities of the unknown while the other stops and grieves

One of my favourite details in the Frieren v Frieren fight is the opening. Both of them are scanning for an opening while using defensive magic before the first blow happens.

Y’all should next watch Dungeon Meshi or Apothecary Diaries or both.
