2025-01-18 05:55:27 +0000 UTCIf you like emotional anime like this episode, you will absolutely love Your Lie In April. This episode reminded me of it for some reason. I don't think I've felt anything so deeply because of a show, like I did with Your Lie In April, I would love to see you watch it one day.

2025-01-17 09:28:19 +0000 UTCIt's not just that she didn't pay it back in time or was "holding out on money," she was short on the money she owed them because she took a chunk of it out to buy her daughter the dress for her birthday, something special for a "mundane" life. So sad.

2025-01-13 03:55:10 +0000 UTCHuh? Did it disappear because it was a long story? I'm re-writing it. Silky(person) was obviously an advanced ballet player. And there is a stereotype in Japan that it is the wealthy who can learn ballet. Silky (person) does not speak, but Silky (evil spirit) speaks Japanese in an exaggerated version of the upper-class character's speech, which is called “ojousama-kotoba” (young lady's language), a standard Japanese manga expression. There was no picture of her husband in her room. It is hard to imagine that she created debts through extravagance, since she lives a simple life and works diligently (prostitution is a tragedy), and it is thought that her husband made the debts and ran away. From her inability to rely on her parents, we can assume that her marriage to her husband was opposed by her parents. Based on the above, many people interpret the story as based on the tragic formula (there are many stories with the same pattern but different details) of a naive young woman who is tricked into eloping with a bad man who is after her money, but he reveals his true nature and runs away, leaving her in debt. The official version is not explicitly stated, so take it as one of many interpretations.

2025-01-11 14:08:38 +0000 UTCOne of the reasons why it is assumed that Silky (human) used to be a child of a rich family is that she was an advanced ballet student. In Japan, there is a strong image that “a child who can learn ballet = a child from a wealthy family. Silky (human) does not speak, but the Japanese spoken by Silky (evil spirit) is an exaggerated version of the manga-like “upper class speech style,” which also suggests that she was raised in an upper class family. As for why it is assumed that the partner was a bad man, if it was a welcome marriage, Silky (human) would have been able to rely on her parents when her husband was gone, so at least she would not have been prostituting herself and would have had someone to help raise the child. If not, then we can assume that her husband was an unwelcome kind of man. When we see how diligent she is in working hard and saving money, we can assume that the debt was also created by the man. Given Silky's affectionate nature, we believe that if her husband was a good man, it would be unnatural for her not to have pictures of him or descriptions of her daughter talking about her father. Thus, “A rich young lady is cheated by a bad man who is after her money and elopes with her. Although they eloped, the man thought that if the young lady cried to her parents' house, she would not be lacking in money. However, the young lady refused to rely on her parents' family to keep her love alive, and she was willing to go through hardship even if she was poor. A man with a broken plan reveals his true nature, abuses a woman, and then disappears~” So many people think that the story is based on a typical story. (Typicaly but even though the patterns are similar, the details vary widely. In Japan, there are ghost stories in which a woman who has suffered such an experience becomes an evil spirit and curses the man to death.) However, as long as it is not spoken in the main story, this does not mean that it is the correct answer, so each interpretation is fine. Sorry for the long post. Thanks for reading this far.

2025-01-11 12:52:21 +0000 UTCWhere did the theory that she used to be rich and eloped with an evil man come from?? The rest is pretty obvious, but that first part seems kind of random

2025-01-10 16:06:52 +0000 UTCThere is a notion that ballet is a rich man's pastime. The theory is that Silkie was once a rich young lady who was tricked into eloping with an evil man, who left her with debts and a child, and she even prostituted herself to raise her beloved child in order to repay the debts. And the Bad guys were debt collectors . Silkie bought dresses and cakes for the child, and because of their modest extravagance, she wasn't unable to repay the debt and the men kidnapped the child. Her daughter was the meaning of her life, and when she lost her daughter, she lost the meaning of her life and died. Her strong resentment at having her daughter taken from her and her strong attachment to her daughter made her a distorted creature. It is a sad story in which Silky's motherhood and true love.

2025-01-10 10:47:44 +0000 UTCOne popular theory is that these men were loan sharks or had sth to do with her prostitution job. Another things I've seen floating around is that they were probably Yakuza. In the 90s Yakuza frequently extorted "protection" money out of low-income areas and if you couldn't pay them they would traffick women and girls. It is one of the topics japanese media doesn't really comment on (japan has a bunch of topics they've lowkey banned from stories), so some, especially japanese, fans believe that this is a "subtle" commentary on that.

2025-01-10 08:01:21 +0000 UTCYou really think those people abducted her daughter over the cost of one dress and some dancing classes? She was obviously in much deeper debt than that, those expenses were comparatively small and guess what? Poor people in debt deserve to have nice things too.

2025-01-10 06:19:37 +0000 UTCThis episode man😭 So the mother was taking all sorts of jobs to put food on the table for her daughter, including selling her body. The men that came to their apartment were loansharks if I remember correctly. We can at least take some comfort in that the manga has a panel showing the mother and her real daughter reunited in the afterlife. Thanks to Aira’s words the mother was able to find peace after all.

2025-01-10 02:37:07 +0000 UTCThe manga is much easier to understand, she was indeed a prostitute. The bad men were most likely loan sharks she never paid back in time, or maybe she was holding out money from prostituion from them. Also her dancing at the end she was really on top of a building and she jumped off from the guilt she felt losing her daughter.

2025-01-10 02:10:45 +0000 UTCAh, the good episode of the series. It’s sad but she was a terrible mother. If she hadn’t wasted all that money on ballet lessons and pretty dresses she could have paid back the loan sharks and her daughter wouldn’t have been trafficked away into a living hell. It’s so stupid of her but I still feel sorry for her even though it was all her fault. I feel much more sorry for the kid, though. She needed a better parent. One who might have at least tried to get her back instead of just giving up and suiciding off the roof. Life sucks for that kid.

2025-01-10 02:02:55 +0000 UTCIt was for acrobatic silky and her daughter 😭 in the manga, they’re both finally reunited in the after life so it’s implied that they did sadly kill the daughter.

2025-01-10 01:01:45 +0000 UTCId like to think that when Aira asks for them to move on to a better world, She's talking about not only The Acrobatic Silky but also her mother. Part of me feels like there's a life bond with the Aura that in some way made Aira see Acro through the eyes of her daughter. So calling her mommy was her way of getting to actually say goodbye to her own mother.
NOIR Weldon
2025-01-10 00:14:29 +0000 UTCPretty much , which ads to her having apologized for not having or giving enough to her kid despite her giving everything for her from her body to the very end her life.
