2024-12-05 15:35:56 +0000 UTCI read and loved the manga first, so I knew I was going to love this show from the beginning, but this was the episode where it clicked for me that not only was this a brilliant adaptation, but it was actually elevating the source material by virtue of doing things the manga couldn't (movement, music, voice acting). So you can take something like the fight with the dragon, which is basically only 2 panels in the manga, and leverage it into an breathtaking impact moment with insanely fluid animation coupled with Evan Call's heart-stirring score.
