Even this far back Zoro had IT!

Jake Smith

My boy ZORO!!

Vagabond isn't over, Inoue just isn't working on it currently but has always expressed a desire to hopefully one day finish it, which I don't think he was referring to the exhibition epilogue chapter when he said that. He only just recently returned to writing/drawing Real, his wheelchair basketball manga which is also really good.

Baker

Zoro vs Mr.1 in the live action is gonna go crazy, if done right. i cant wait

Goon

its explained later in the show how zoro evolved to be able to cut steel or how he could feel where the boulders were falling

Dim Spy

4:30 *Doggo comes in room* "Hey, whats up?" Mr 1: "ATOMIC SPARK!" Doggo: "Aight, imma head out" *leaves room immediately*

Please stay safe! The Kicking Claw Squad (I may have got their name wrong womp) are manga characters and the way they show up completely unhinted at and are just swept under the rug with zero fanfare is something else. Again, Oda's not infallible, that plot point is basically just Oda stalling. Manga accurate filler lol.

Kitsune Inferno

btw glad you guys are safe and dont worry about trying to catch up w/ the schedule, take your time.

Goon

Zoro is so freaking badass

Goon

Vagabond is over? Last I checked it was still on hiatus. then he published a possible epilogue chapter for an art gallery magazine or something, but he's still going to fill in the blanks after chapter 327 when he's ready.

damn, now i really have to read Vagabond even if i know it has a rushed ending.

Zoro's swordsmanship epiphany in this fight is a direct reference to the Buddhist concept of Mu (nothingness), and it's adapted martial arts concept of Mushin (mind without mind), by the legendary swordsman Miyamoto Musashi. In Musashi's treatise, The Book Of Five Rings, he says "Rhythm exists in everything. There is even rhythm in being empty.” Modern martial arts connects this to the psychological concept of flow state, but in the scope of this series, it's more about the mental clarity of being near death that forces this realization in Zoro. With this background, when we look at Zoro's master's words, we can see they had a secret meaning: "A swordsman who can cut nothing" is not the same as a swordsman who can't cut anything.

Zoro the best!! One of my favorite Zoro fights!!

Margherita Landi

Zoro is the best first mate period. He is way too sick with it.

John Paul

Do not shoot the surrendering man what is wrong with you :(. awesome batch as usual

Isac christensen

From Zoro's explanation, I think it's the same idea as the Daki fight in Demon Slayer. They couldn't cut through the ribbon if it was slack, so the allegory is that everything has a rhythm and anything can be cut if you know its properties and how it behaves.

Jonathan Charles

I really like Mr 1 as well. As soon as Zoro cuts him he is impressed and accepts defeat

Joka

Yes. I was about to comment for them to remember this fight for future reference.

CeceBell

Hopefully they remain unspoiled for Zoro related things in future episodes. I remember Animaechan being really mad that she got robbed of an amazing moment.

Slaizio

Zoro is HIM!

This is one of my favorite zoro fights…. I will try to remind you about this fight when we get further into the story because to truly explain what happened, some spoilers are necessary to explain it completely
