I love nami fights- they are always so interesting and unpredictable, that weapon would be useless if the hands of someone without her knowledge! Such a fun episode 😄

"Don't make One Piece political, they're only overthrowing fascist rulers it aint political" 💀💀💀

Admiral D

One piece is so political of course ppl are gonna relate it to irl

trite

She only received it at Rainbase.

Jass

yeah we've seen Nami can literally detect really subtle shifts in temperature and weather even when she's burning up from fever. Perfect weapon for a navigator

fr0st

i love nami :D , also Next ep is soo fire

Goon

Snowman9712 You just showed us how little you understand OP.

Lucia Petrozzi

Also I love Zoro's approach. Aside from being badass, he's so inspirational. A tough opponent comes up and his response is awesome, WHEN I defeat you (not IF), I will be the person who can cut steel

fr0st

Always makes me laugh that Nami was literally traversing a whole ass desert on a camel but didn't have time to read the instructions at any point before now. Great comedy, though. Nami and Usopp are truly the normal people duo in the crew and it's very understandable that they feel a bit left behind when the absolute monsters they have for friends are out there fighting

fr0st

Funny thing is even Usopp didnt know that climatak can do those things lol Nami figure it out herself

Daiyiya

> "We don't need to get political" > Story about overthrowing corrupt governments/police for fun

I love the clima tact as a weapon for Nami, in literally anyone else's hands it would just be another bo staff, but because of Nami's knowlege of the weather it turns her i to a f'ing wizard! Oda does this with his heroes, give them a seemingly weak weapon or power, that would not work as well if given to anyone else, its the same with Luffy's Gomu-Gomu No Mi, a seemingly weak fruit compared to someone like Ace or Crocodile, but because he is Luffy he makes it work for him.

Jonas AP

Love the history. Thanks for sharing:) OP is very dark, but Oda senses has a way to tell the world’s story but with a crew that represents hope

Regie Khemvisay

One detail I love about the Nami/doublefinger fight is that Miss Doublefinger’s silhouette through the second wall is at a different angle than the silhouette through the first. Meaning that she *kept spinning* as she continued to go through walls

Man, I wish the anime didn't leave that stuff out. I was an anime only watcher when I first started One Piece, so I didn't realize they took out all the foreshadowing of the Clima-Tact. Interestingly enough, I have been a manga only reader for around a decade now lol. At some point, I would like to go back and read the story from the beginning to see all the stuff I missed out on during my anime only phase

Ilsuk Yang

Duly noted.

The German dub of Nami vs Ms. Doublefinger is still haunting me to this day (in a positive way). One of my absolute favorite episodes. <3 Nami finally starting to fight seriously (though it might not appear that way at first!).

Andrea D.

Nami VS. Ms. Double Finger is the closest I've seen an anime show what it feels like to learn a fighting game playing against someone who's knows what they're doing and won't give you time to learn your buttons.

There are even openings that spoiled the manga readers, so they are obvious. Especially the current one is filled with spoilers. Won't say which ones though, as they read the comments

Snowman9712

Keep sticking to One Piece, we don't need to get political here, even though there are similarities

Snowman9712

I won't say what get's spoiled, but the current opening does contain a massive spoiler that is obvious. It's good that they skip them. Maybe we didn't realize these things as kids, but we definitely would now

Snowman9712

Also I love how Oda draws analogs of real life, historical things. A foreign govt backed power interfering in a smaller less powerful nation to get access to a resource. Crocodile is banking on his status and power granted to him by the world government as one of the 7 Warlords, and the lack of regulation, supervision and oversight that comes with it, as he looks for Pluton in Alabasta. This is similar when our govt would empower and arm a faction and help stage a coup d'etat in another country in order to have better or discounted access to a resource we need. Like when the UK and our govt overthrew Mossadegh, the democratically elected leader of Iran, in 1953, and put in a puppet monarch, the Shah Reza Pahlavi. He let us pull heavily discounted oil from the newly discovered oil fields. He bankrupted Iran while he lived lavishly, and the circumstances allowed a radical fundamentalist who later became known as Ayatollah Khomeini to start the 1979 Iranian Revolution. Iran's never been the same since. We ruined that country. 😞 The CIA and our government admitted it in 2000, when they declassified the files.

Also, this is probably the last "manga vs. anime fun fact" I'll have for quite some time. With one or two exceptions, the anime to my understanding is more or less manga accurate from here on. The only big ones I can think of are either events being presented in a different order which isn't usually worth mentioning, or it's a mixed filler situation where canon events are altered to support anime-only filler, or it's just censorship of some kind. I'll call out the big ones as they come up, but they are fairly few and far between going forward. Alabasta is just a weird case of adaptation meddling that's more of an exception than the rule. EDIT: Actually there is one more big one coming up soon involving a cover story that doesn't get adapted to the anime. The cover story problem will always exist, sadly.

Kitsune Inferno

Nami vs. Miss Doublefinger (which by the way, if this hasn't been explained or made known, "doublefinger" = 1 and 1 = 1/1 = New Year's Day), as minor as it is, is one of my favorite fights in the entire series because it's so fun watching Nami come into power in real time, and her power is probably my favorite power of all. Her abilities are so so so underrated. The anime makes an odd choice in making the Clima Tact seem to come out of nowhere, but in the manga it's actually foreshadowed really well. In the middle of the desert trek to Yuba, Oda did a color spread with the Straw Hats doing various things and for Usopp, we see him tinkering with an unknown object that looks a lot like Nami's bo staff -- this is our first glimpse of the Clima Tact. Then, just before reaching Rainbase, Nami asks Usopp if her "weapon" is ready and Usopp presents her with the Clima Tact right then and there, but it's not actually used until the Doublefinger fight like in the anime. But these two little scenes create an expectation that Nami's got something up her sleeve as the arc progresses toward its climax, an expectation that unfortunately doesn't exist in the anime before we're abruptly introduced to the Clima Tact in the same episode it is used.

Kitsune Inferno

I'm usually pro-opening and believe that the opening showing future scenes in out-of-context highlight reels is fair game. But if you don't think opening 3 is an unabashed and blatant spoiler, I have to think you're trolling.

Kitsune Inferno

Nami is so protective of other women ❤️ YAY SISTERHOOD (also yay clima takt)

draeonic 🪼

I understand you have Big Feelings about the artistic integrity of anime openings but there's really no need to shove that anger at us, bro (also this opening really does have a fairly obvious spoiler, as do many others)

draeonic 🪼

While I quite like some of the intros, I'm not sure why you are getting so upset about people skipping them. A quick look at Crunchroll, and you will see that one of the most liked comments on every episode is the one that tells people where the title card is, so they can skip the 3-8 minute intros / recaps. And just to play devil's advocate, I watched the current into, and there is really only one spoiler. However, it is pretty major and it is shown repeatedly. So I for one am glad they skipped it, and hope the continue to avoid spoilers. Maybe they can add a few minute reaction at the end of each arc to the various intros / end credits for the arc.

Brandon

Please react to the live action start of producing teaser that dropped today

can’t wait to watch also the live action is filming season 2 today 🥳🥳

Good morning and good start to the week everyone and Hello Ladies! hehe

CacoMetal

From here, the mysteries hidden in the world of One Piece begin to be revealed. The story of the series will evolve 🤭🏴‍☠️

Beto Lar.

That's bullshit. I have watched this show to the last episode with all intros and I have nether been spoilered. Yes some things get shown which if you skip through frame by frame afterwards are foreshadowed. But if you watch it normally you don't see a thing. That's how the show is meant to be watched and how we all are watching it for almost 20 years now. Cut the crap.

B4rb4ross4

Go Nami :D

Isac christensen

Okay yeah that makes sense for one piece. I haven’t seen all their AOT reactions, but I did notice they skipped the intro often so I was wondering if they have watched the AOT ones at all. Thanksss

perona

The current opening in one piece has spoilers, so they are avoiding it for now. As for most other animes, it depends if there are spoilers, if that's the case they skip, otherwise they play the opening for the first episode then skip from there.

Bryan LaSala

Not specifically one piece related, but do they skip the openings for all animes? And if so do they plan on reacting to them in the future? (e.g Attack on titan)
