except the warriors are only half brainwashed. present time eldians are normal people, most of them, due to their memories being wiped. they’re ancestors as in 1-2 generations ago, extremely recently, were devils by all accounts. the histories prove this. a warring nation who kept the world under their feet & when they ran out of enemies they turned on themselves. inherently bloodthirsty. island eldians would be the same if not for the memory wipe. those who were immune prove this. king fritz knew his peoples truth & understood they needed to be removed from the equation for the world to know peace. willy’s speech proves this was obtainable. eren proves willy’s sentiments.

i agree with kebiro about dropping hints. But that being said, as someone who writes a message on nearly every single post and chats with the reactors when possible with mod access, i can tell you that luckily enough the girls are usually 3 episodes ahead of what they release AND they usually don't look at comments anymore until 4-5 episodes after that release, for a total of ~8-10 episodes gap between what they watch and reading comments. So luckily this didnt ruin anything imho but yeah. careful

Also the whole "how difficult is it for someone to unbrainwash themselves and question their ubringing" is portrayed really well between the two characters of Gabi and Falco. Falco is already questing all of his brainwashing and being successful at it, so the author is saying it's possible to unbrainwash yourself, just depends on your personality and whether your willing to seriously question your upbringing.

One of my favourite episodes, because as you said: This feels real. Right now there are wars around the world, as there has been for a long time, when I was born (1997) there were already wars going on, and the truth is that if you analyze the history of humanity it has always been like this... Obviously sometimes peace It cannot be achieved through dialogue, and in fact there have been "necessary" wars to achieve peace and free the people from someone's tyranny, but those cases are from thousands of years ago without exaggeration. What I mean is that 99% of "modern wars" are really because of interests, whether economic or political, but interests. And not only that, but they also play with the citizens' feelings and make them believe that they are fighting for them, when not, they are fighting for the interests of the elites for whom they are NOBODY, just tools. At the end of the day, those who sleep peacefully in their beds and are rich are the ones in charge and those who have real interests in the war, however those who perish on the battlefield or end up in worse conditions are those who have nothing to do with it, that is, ordinary people who just want to be able to have a normal and quiet life. I think Hajime Isayama manages to capture very well how these issues affect people today, there you have Gabi, hating people he doesn't even know, for crimes they didn't commit, for interests beyond their control... Excuse the political tone , but this anime, or rather, this work is about this, the tragedy of war and how bad its brainwashing is. As in real life.

You know girls, when this show aired lots and lots of people hated Gabi because of what she did to Sasha. I mean, I understood that she was fan-favorite but what is interesting is that those reactions about her were just the same like Gabi's towards Island Eldians in a way. They knew almost nothing about her just as she knew nothing about them. Also we forget that have we have the benefit of perspective. Gabi doesnt. I really love that we get to see the results of hatred fostered throughout the generations. No matter how irrational the hatred of the "Good eldians" is. It is even mora apparent when Kaya absolutely destroyes Gabi's argument and Gabi still tries to defend her stand through her flawed view. You can see in Gabi's eyes that she knows she is not right but coming to terms with her newly found information would just destroy her life goal of why she wants to be an Armored titan. In other words: Admitting that she was wrong would just trampled her all existance.
