Some of the fillers and movies are so fun maybe when you have an itch to watch one piece and you are not on schedule you can give it a try in your own time, me personally I just love all the content and never want it to end 🥲😂

I personally like the filler episodes everyone says you should skip but you can decide that. Some add so much more to characters and the world building. Only a few so far have had nothing to do with the story at all. But definitely keep watching because you'll catch so many more references in the live action!

If you follow the filler episodes guide (there's also an option at the top to hide the episode titles) & watch everything green, that basically covers everything you said, with the exception of: - 55 (–08:00) -> 61 (13:00–) - 102 (very good filler) - 131-135 (good filler) - 196-206 (best filler) - 225 (–03:00) & 226 (19:30–) Oh and after ep115 the new 3rd opening will need to be skipped & won't be safe to watch before ep131

One Piece is an amazing story, full of adventures, friendships and mysteries… you can’t help yourself but wanted to be part of the Straw Hats crew… they will take you to places you can only dream of, always together. Definitely skip the fillers. One Piece is already long enough as it is. There are some episodes that are half canon and half filler. Those are the only ones you should watch.

I will definitely vote for that on one of the polls if it comes up. I'm super excited that you guys are continuing, I will up my Patreon level to the next one up from where I'm at, to match you. Much respect for you guys! There's also people that I'm sure will let you know that the recaps at the beginning of the episodes you can skip, those were there because people who were watching week to week would forget what was going on and it helped, but since you guys will be watching frequently, you guys can skip forward to the title card. But the main focus of the headquarters is the Grandline, because the blues are generally perceived as really weak in comparison. Luffy's bounty of 30 million is the highest in the East Blue, but on a grand scale, especially on the Grandline, he's still a small fish

2024-03-21 18:37:18 +0000 UTCI'm so excited to see you two continue the journey and I'd personally prefer most of the filler to be skipped bar one particular arc which I'm sure other people will also recommend you watch when we get closer to it. The series is long enough as is and while the filler isn't bad, I'm sure most people would rather you focus on the main canon story stuff in terms of time commitment. That being said these episodes remind me of one of the most enjoyable aspects of the show, the bits in between arcs and sagas where the world adapts and reacts to the events that have transpired. All the while the Straw Hats are just chilling and messing around on their ship.

Unfortunately, your first foray into One Piece filler is intertwined with canon material, and filler guides don't really get into the heart of what episodes are worth watching and why. I'll try to give a subjective take on what's canon and what's not for the first 195 episodes. Episodes 46-47 are NOT filler and should NOT be skipped, even though they are sometimes erroneously classified as filler. Episodes 50-51 are filler, but they are in the middle of a canon arc, and 50 contains content that was originally envisioned for the manga and then cut for time. I would say these episodes are WORTH WATCHING, if only to get a sense of what filler is like, and because 50 is genuinely great. Episodes 54-61 are filler, but they are mixed with canon elements. Episode 55 starts with a canon scene, while the second half of 61 has canon and filler content mixed together. I personally don't care for this filler arc and would recommend SKIPPING, but the second half of 61 at least is ESSENTIAL. I would recommend watching the first few minutes of 55, and everything after the eyecatcher in 61, if you are content with watching partial episodes. Episodes 68-69 are NOT filler and should NOT be skipped. Episode 93 is technically filler, but it doesn't feel like it is, and can be skipped if you want to, but I don't think it's a big deal. Episodes 98, 99, parts of 101, and all of 102 are mid-arc filler and can be safely skipped if desired. 101 does have a canon scene in it, though, and the second half should be watched. The rest is largely inconsequential. Episodes 131-143 are all pure filler and I don't think any of it is worth watching. 143 does end with a canon scene, but that scene also opens 144, so you can watch 144 safely without watching 143. It's ultimately your discretion! Despite what people say, One Piece is fairly light on filler, and some of it is worth watching (196-206!!!), but it's not the end of the world if it's skipped.

2024-03-21 17:59:25 +0000 UTCIf anything, once you start noticing the recaps of the episodes getting way too long, which they do, you should probably start the commentary at the end of the recaps, and you might even be able to do 3 episodes in the time you usually do 2. I swear during some later arcs the recap+title took up a full 8 minutes of the 22 minute show, it's insane.

Can really flesh out the build up and characters in a way that makes them feel truly alive when you take your time doing it. Oda also knows how to use smaller plot-lines and humor to keep things from getting stale as he develops things further.

Thankfully though, this is iirc – besides 1 or 2 other cases – the only occurence for the next hundreds of eps. The canon tidbits in 54-61 are: 1) last 5 minutes of 54 (optional, since included in the recap of 55) 2) first 8 minutes of 55 3) second half of 61 (ignore the little girl) https://www.animefillerlist.com/shows/one-piece is with a very few exceptions – that I'd imagine many here will let you know of ahead of time – a pretty reliable guide, if you simply watch everything that is green (regardless of if it says manga or mixed canon). The only filler arc that most of the OP community agrees on to be worth watching is the 5th one: ep196-206.

2024-03-21 13:54:11 +0000 UTCThe scene where Luffy gets his scar didn't get animated initially in the anime because Toei didn't want kids stabbing themselves in the face. But later on, there's a special episode called Episode of Luffy which animates that scene. Btw Oda does this thing where the cover page for chapters has either some reader submitted art prompt for him, or (and this is so cool), he draws single frames of what is happening elsewhere in the world with characters we've met before. These series of cover pages string together into their own separate narrative! Some of these cover stories get adapted in the anime. The next two episodes are canon, an adaptation of one of these narratives. There's a filler arc coming up from episode 54 to episode 61. However within the filler arc contains canon information. If you just want to see the Canon stuff, then after you finish episode 53, skip to episode 55 and watch the first 8 minutes after hitting play. Then skip to episode 61, and start watching around the 13 minute mark.
