Everyone is usually mad at Mikasa for being a jerk and throwing his weapon away, but you're dead on! He wanted it to kill himself to avoid the horrors, and she said "nah, we're going to live"

Believe me when I say this, everything that you hear or see in this anime is connected in one way or another. Every single little thing you see is symbolism for something. And the more you watch you'll realize what stuff means.
