“Come with me,” a busty blonde woman wearing a black suit said while Andy was walking behind her, he was wearing black shoes, blue jeans, and a white shirt.

“Okay Annie, let’s go!” The young man said with a motivated expression.

They were in the building where in the city government offices, this was the main office of the current government, the older woman and the young man looked like a pair of friends instead of the love fools they actually were.

She was the mayor of the city after all, they had to keep appearances and look like normal friends instead of lovers, but still, they didn’t waste time and shared a few pecks from time to time when they felt they were alone, they also did it in places where Anna knows there were no cameras.

They got inside an elevator and this place had no cameras for some reason, they were lucky they were alone, so, while they waited to get to the floor under their current one, they couldn’t stop themselves from sharing a kiss.

They were hugging as they did this and it seemed like they were so lost in the world, they enjoyed this way too much that time passed so fast for them because the moment they arrived on the floor under the one where they previously were, they felt like it happened in just the blink of an eye.

“Come on, let’s keep going,” Anna told her younger lover who nodded without thinking twice, and soon, they were walking towards a certain office.

‘Secretary of culture’ Andy read in his mind as they arrived at a certain office.

“Let's wait a moment, it seems like we arrived at the wrong time because her secretary isn’t here,” Anna told him before she knocked on the door.

They waited for a few moments and then, the door was suddenly opened. Andy quickly recognized the person who opened the door, it was one of Anna’s friends he met at the party with all those important people, she had a serious expression as she looked at Anna and Andy.

Her name is Donna Schneider and today she’s wearing a long white dress and white shoes, her long grey hair and pale skin make Andy feel interesting things, still, even though he feels attracted to her, he’s not going to use his powers, or at least he hopes he doesn't have to, she’s Anna’s friend and the last thing he wants is to risk his friendship with the mayor just because he can’t contain himself, he always tries to remember to not shit where he eats.

“Oh, it’s the mayor, sorry I've made you wait as you can see, we’re a little busy with the preparations for the celebrations of the bicentenary of the city, even my secretaries are doing more work than they usually do!” The older woman said in an apologetic tone.

“Don’t be sorry Donna, it's fine, you and your team are doing god’s work right now, that’s why I brought Andy to help you lessen the burden,” Anna suddenly pointed at Andy who waved at the grey-haired woman.

“It’s a pleasure to meet you again Mrs. Schneider,” Andy said with a calm tone.

“You’re…Andy, right? I remember you from the party, you gave quite the show back there,” the older woman said and the young man nodded proudly. “Please call me Donna, I’m no one's Mrs. I never got married,” the grey-haired woman playfully said.

“Yes, but don’t think she hasn’t had good men after her, she just believes no men are worthy of her,” Anna said to Andy with a sarcastic tone.

Andy was surprised by this, it seemed like even though they were good friends, they still acted a little passive-aggressive towards each other, Andy was well aware of this kind of behavior between women, after all, his mother and her friends always acted like that when they meet at his home, something he hated because they were loud and annoying, they were pretty on the outside that’s true but they were awful people on inside.

“Yes…The mayor is right…Of course, she thinks like me, that’s why she’s single, because you two aren’t dating, right?” Donna now was playing around with Anna.

Andy was worried, it seemed like the mayor didn’t take that comment very well, he was worried about what could happen now, when you get angry and provoked you can reveal the worst side of yourself, so, he needed to do something to stop Anna from doing or saying that could reveal the real status of their relationship.

“Actually, Andy and I—” The woman couldn’t finish.

“I came here to help you with the upcoming festival,” Andy suddenly intervened.

The two women were a little surprised he decided to speak, Anna suddenly glared at him and soon, they were looking into each other’s eyes and soon, the blonde realized she was going to say something very stupid, she felt relieved Andy decided to interrupt her.

“Yes, he’s right, I brought him here to help you with the musical events your department is going to host in the upcoming weeks,” Anna suddenly said with a happy expression.

Donna was a little surprised by that declaration, but suddenly, she sighed.

“I’m sorry but all the artist spots are occupied, there’s no more budget to hire another player, mayor,” the culture chief said with a serious expression.

“Well if the budget is the problem, I can work for free, or even better, I can pay and you can get that money for you, politicians love free money, right?” Andy asked with a calm tone.

Now it was Anna’s turn to get worried, what Andy said was the truth but you should never say something like that to someone who works in the government, these people usually have fragile egos.

“While I agree with your comment make no mistake Andy…I’m not a politician,” Donna suddenly smiled arrogantly at Anna like she was telling her she was better because she wasn’t a money-hungry politician like her.

“Oh, please…” Anna said sarcastically. “Wait a minute, what if I raise the budget for this event? I think I can do that,” the mayor proposed with a happy tone.

“I don’t think that’s a good idea mayor, after all, the fact that an unknown musician would get to play in this important event could raise some flags, unless you want rumors to spread around. You know me well, I would never accuse you of using your power to benefit your loved ones because we’re friends but there are lots of people that are waiting for you to do something like this to destroy you,” Donna said with a serious tone.

Andy was surprised by how sharp the woman was and she was right, the last thing they needed was a corruption claim, especially when the citizens weren’t that happy with her. Now Anna had no idea what to do or say, she had nothing that could be used to convince Donna to let Andy play.

“Is there really nothing I could do Donna? Like I've said I can do it for free and as far as I know, you only have one pianist, right?” Andy asked with a calm tone and Donna nodded. “I think we can add one or two double piano pieces, it’s not something common for these kinds of festivities but I think it would be interesting, what do you think chief?” Andy suggested and the grey-haired woman couldn’t help but think about his words.

She hated to be in this situation, she knew Andy was a good man and most importantly, she knew he was a good pianist, but she already had someone to be the pianist of the event, and she knew that if she let Andy play, that person is not going to be happy about it, but the idea of playing double piano pieces sounded too tempting for her to ignore it, she sometimes hated being so curious.

The older woman was trying to find reasons to deny the proposal, but suddenly, she looked into Andy’s eyes and for some reason she couldn’t help but feel weird, she couldn’t stop staring at them, the young man had the most beautiful eyes she had ever seen, or at least that’s the way she feels about his eyes right now.

As for Andy, he was smirking in his mind, he couldn’t resist himself, he wasn’t going to completely seduce the woman, he just wanted her to accept his proposal and that’s it, he was going to leave her alone afterward.

“I can’t confirm anything but…If my current pianist agrees then I’ll be happy to make some adjustments so you can work for us and I’m going to pay you too but, don’t set your hopes too high, that pianist is very special and I'm not saying that in a good sense,” the grey-haired woman told him before sighing and the young man felt like the happiest person in the world.

He did it, he was on the verge of getting his first music-related job and the most important thing was that he wasn’t going to do it for free.
