Daphne couldn’t sleep, it’s been three days since her audience and the jury still hadn’t come to a resolution, so, after the first few hours, the ministry officers decided to send her back home to wait until the jury came to a resolution but ever since then, she hasn’t been able to sleep more than three hours.

The doubt was killing her, however, that wasn't the worst part about that situation, there was another problem, it seemed like Harry Potter had been removed from his post as her guard due to some issues with paperwork he hadn't been able to keep up with, he told her it was a temporary thing but she wasn’t so sure about that, just when she thought they were getting closer this happens.

It seems like destiny had something against them being together, she still remembers those days when they were in Hogwarts, how she had a crush on the dark-haired wizard just like many other witches but considering her age, she never thought of that crush as something serious, she expected to never feel like that towards him again and yet, she was longing for him now even thought she hated him at first.

She wished she had been braver back then, she had so many chances to speak with him during those days either during lessons or after their lessons were done, those were the perfect times for her to start a conversation with him, but she just never got the guts to speak with him, she knew he would never speak to her by his own so she had to be the one who needed to take the first step but she never did, after all, she was the one who was interested not him.

Now she was wondering how her life would’ve turned out if she had been braver back then, and that’s the last thought she got on her mind before falling asleep, now she was part of the kingdom of dreams that now were completely different, her dreams used to be mostly nightmares but now for some reason, they were more peaceful, she had now happier dreams and in many of them a known figure was there too, and the name of that figure is…Harry Potter.

The next morning…

Harry Potter was bored, he had been working himself to the bone due to some administration problems in the Auror department, he had been delaying the report of the past year where he had to prove he had been a productive Auror, he has to do that if he doesn’t want to get fired, it's something that has always presented late every year, but that’s not at all, he had to do some psychological and physical tests to prove he was capable of continuing in the forces, this is the reason why he was removed from his position as Daphne’s guard, however, he was expecting to get back today.

He was finishing the last thing he needed to finally replace the people who took over his position for these past few days when he was suddenly approached by Andromeda and Hermione while he was getting out of the Auror department, the older woman was carrying Teddy.

“Hey Andy...Mione, what can I do for you two today?” He asked in a calm tone even if he wanted to get back with Daphne as soon as possible.

He wanted to deny it, but these past few days had been so boring to him, he truly missed her, there was no point in him trying to run away from the truth, he liked her and he wanted to be by her side even in a platonic way because their current positions impede them being more than friends.

The older woman didn’t say anything, instead, she just showed him a letter, it was written by someone in the ministry as it had the seal that was only used for special cases, so, he reached out for the thing and when he opened the letter, his eyes widened.

“No way…She...Daphne has been approved for probation!?” He asked with a shocked tone.

Hermione and Andromeda suddenly nodded and giggled at his reaction, they were having a bet on the way he was going to react, it seemed like Hermione despite the fact knowing Harry for a very long time, couldn’t predict he would react like that, Andromeda on the other hand, it was obvious for her that this was going to be his reaction.

Yes, even though Hermione is very sensible, she’s more interested in her own feelings than the ones of other people, something she has been working to get better with because of Andy and Teddy, the last thing she wanted was to hurt them, that’s why sometimes her own ambition made her act a little jealous during her schooldays even with her own friends, like that time when she got jealous of Harry’s potion skills.

Yes, Hermione wasn’t aware that her best friend was in love with Daphne Greengrass, Hermione just thought that Harry was being friendly and sympathetic towards the blonde, after all, that would make sense considering his savior complex, a thing that has gotten him in so much trouble in the past.

But it seems like Hermione was overpowered this time by her fiance’s life experience when it comes to reading people, Andy was no psychiatrist but she has dealt with tons of different people throughout her life, so, it wasn’t a surprise for her that Harry reacted in this way.

“Thank you so much for helping her with this, it wouldn’t have been possible without you two,” Harry suddenly said before he hugged the two women.

They were taken by surprise by that action because Harry isn’t someone who shows his emotions, he’s a good person who usually keeps his feelings to himself, so, if he was acting like this, it seemed like he was far gone already and there was nothing Andy and Hermione could do to save him from falling for the blonde, not that he wanted to be saved though.

“I wish I could stay here and talk with you girls but I need to tell her about this!” Harry said as he got ready to leave.

“Harry wait, let me explain to you what that letter means before you leave…That doesn’t mean her sentence is over, that just means she would be able to live more freely, she can be in the outside world now as long as her guard (you) is with her all the time, she needs to come to the ministry to finish the paperwork and get the full details about this change in her sentence,” Andromeda explained Harry in the shortest way possible.

“Yes, I’ll tell her you said hi!” Harry suddenly said before disappearing.

Andy tried to stop him, but her efforts were useless, he was gone already and she wasn’t sure if he understood what she said to him which made her feel a little worried, Daphne Greengrass needed to come to the ministry as soon as possible to finish the paperwork and be an almost free person again.

“Don’t worry Andy…I’m sure he’s going to be fine, there’s nothing to worry about, I can assure you it’s not going to take too long for us to see them again,” the younger woman said with a cheerful smile.

Andy was a little skeptical compared to her fiancé, but in the end, she knew Hermione was right, there was nothing to worry about, and nothing could possibly go wrong right now for Harry and Daphne…

Meanwhile, back at the Greengrass manor, Harry couldn’t believe what he was seeing, the garden, the place they’d been working for a few weeks, it was gone, it had been completely destroyed but that’s not all, the entrance of the house has been blown out.

“T-There’s no way that…” Harry had some difficulties trying to finish his phrases.

He had a reason to be acting like that, the situation wasn’t good, and he knew that Daphne wasn’t safe, so, he hurried up as fast as he could, he tried to deny the reality that this could be an illusion, he tried to believe he still had time to prevent a tragedy from happening.

However, the moment he entered the house, he was welcomed by a gruesome sight, the Aurors that were supposed to be in charge of Daphne, one of them was lying in a pool of his own blood while the other had been completely blasted against a wall, his body was completely covered in blood.

Still, Harry managed to calm down and think like an Auror, suddenly, he ran as fast as he could and while he did that, he called for reinforcements as he checked the current state of his colleagues, he then applied some healing charms so their scars could close and their blood wouldn’t leak anymore.

They lost lots of blood but they could still be saved, so, he decided to leave them there for the reinforcements to take care of them, he had something more important left to do, he ran as fast as he could toward Daphne’s room and the worst thing he could think of happened, there were lots of blood on the room and there was no sight of Daphne in the room.
