Hornsby is a sleaze ball, I think Mercer is just a rule follower and isn't trying to sabotage our group. The real Stephanie cares about them, but is trying to wait for the right moment to reveal herself. Also I think the Commonwealth might still find Alexandria although I think Eugene is going to give them a false location, like Hilltop or something. Either way our people are desperate.

Yes, but not everyone is in on it. We saw the real Stephanie again this episode, so I think Hornsby and fake Stephanie are working together. It’s also clear that Hornsby doesn't want Pamela Milton to know what he's doing, so I think his motivations are deeper than what he told Yumiko. Also, does anyone else find it strange that while Ezekial was being helped Tomi was also taken by Hornsby?

Perhaps Mercer purposefully pulled the security detail away to put the Sebastian's life in danger/get him killed and Eugene "accidentally" saved him.

I say yes and no. I think everything was part of the plan, up until the events with the idiot son, and now Hornsby is just adapting to the situation like the little finger wannabe he is.

I can definitely see that being the case, otherwise it seems a bit weird that for a place so obsessed with rules a VIP could come that close to death
