What If...? 1x8 - Poll!

Do you think the Watcher and the show returns the way it was before Ultron's breach, or will things never be the same from now on?

Even if Ultron destroys an infinite number of multiverses, the Watcher can just fuck off to ANOTHER infinite number of multiverses for seasons 2 through infinity

Danny King

Hopefully we will see all of them team up, because I really loved Star Lord and Captain Carters characters and also would love to see killmonger again, maybe even becoming more of an antihero. Would love to see all of them in live action in the future, but with starlord this could become difficult (RIP to our king)

Alex the Patron

The Watcher may die and Dr.Strange will become the new watcher and maybe intervene a little more than what he did because of his experience in the next season but only when absolutely necessary. Or maybe it's just a buddy cop duo with those two watching the multiverse together.

Nico Smith

I said What If…? will return to normal because I expect it to have a season 2 like Loki will. I’m also not sure how they can change the multiverse forever, beyond what other shows have already done. Is the idea that the watcher will be in the live action mcu moving forward because he wants to intervene now?

My theory is The Watcher and his Avengers will stop UltraVision, they'll get the infinity stones away from him, and trap him in a Doctor Strange Supreme prison...all by himself (what he ultimately wants) then again, I'm very drunk while writing this, so it maybe dumb

William Forbus

The way things are escalating very quickly makes me think we should see an appearance of some of the major astral beings like Eternity and Infinity or even the Living Tribunal. Probably not to the level of The Beyonder and One-Above-All though.

Glynn Rockwell

I'm hoping the Watcher gathers a multiversal team to deal with potential multivere tier threats in the future.

Crystal Squirrel

I think the What If? series will return to the 'normal' that it was at the start with the Watcher watching universes without interfering, but I also think there will be implications from this show's finale that will reverberate throughout the MCU. Probably coming to a head in the Multiverse of Madness

I don't think it's possible to go back to normal, it was a traumatic multi-universal event. Depending on how long it takes The Watcher to collect his Provengers there might well be a few universes that get glassed. He'll have to at least be proactive to keep that kind of runaway powermad sort of being from being an issue again.

Coeus

I wonder in Ultron defeat if they will have to scatter his body throughout the multi-verse. In the time of The Watcher’s absence the infinite seeds for the birth Nathaniel Richards could be planted. And with Ultron still seeming to have technical components…His defeat could pave the way for the creation of Kang.

Bunny Norris

I think fixing everything in the season finale so that the next season everything is back to normal would be a huge cop out. This season and also the next would feel inconsequential and some people would frankly would give up on the show. Once they introduced the fact that this show has a through line then they are stuck with it for next season aswell.

Milamber Nova

What how can it be the same did Ultron just apologize or something.😲

I think the watcher will use the multiversal avengers to defeat super Ultron but after things will be largely normal except maybe the watcher gives himself a new path of nonintervention with the caveat of preventing the creation of multiverse threats before they are made. So less only a watcher and more of an unseen hand protecting the multiverse but not any specific universe.

https://ew.com/tv/marvels-what-if-jeffrey-wright-the-watcher/ In case others dont want to know the answer.

Erich Bomke

I’ve a feeling he’s going to collect avengers from the different episodes (eg Captain Carter) to defeat Ultron

Mitch O’Shea

I think Ultron will be the one to announce and comentate over the next episode, and maybe even change the intro.

KIA_raider

Has Jeffrey's Watcher been named? Maybe this is the story of how Uatu becomes our Watcher?

Michael De Tie

I believe that things will essentially return to normal except that Jeffery Wright’s watcher will be somehow punished by those he swore an oath to for intervening, and will be replaced with another watcher.

Troopaka

I don't think it will return to normal, but perhaps the beginning of the next episode will act like it is going to be the same before switching to post Ultron....with The Watcher saying his normal what if intro but before he even finishes, it cuts to him and Strange.

Angel Groves

No, it will never return to the way it was. This is how it is now. MCU Spider-verse exists. We're going to get Deadpool in the MCU. What If...? is proving all the things we were afraid to believe. This is now the life we live. And we must deal with it.

MarkIsDaBoss

I am Groot

the show itself i can see going back to normal, but the mcu as a whole will feel some big repercussions from this id imagine

KuroOberon

the mcu is forever changed. for the better

rickie woodson

Someone is making the watcher keep his oath and I think their not gonna be to happy with him

Prince of Za Waurdo Over Salmon

I doubt it. I don't see any reason to doubt why "Kang" in Loki would be lying about why the TVA was created anyhow.

Steffen K

To quote Crisis on Infinite Earth’s: “Worlds will live, Worlds will die, and the Universe will never be the same.”

Matthew Cronin

what if...because this ultron effed things up and caused the watcher to participate, once they defeat ultron this is why the TVA is created and the infinity stones don't work in multiple universes anymore to keep any future Ultron type situation of going through different universes with the stones?

Vonnie Stewart

Each season he has to deal with a multiversal threat.

Collecter343

I think it will never be the same for the next episode, but they will fix it and next season everything will be fine. (Maybe with a few more reality crossovers)

Marpheus

i don't think that will happen i think we will keep seeing this Watcher and the concequences of what he has done

Yassine Biggie

I think they'll just switch to a different Watcher

Denickart

never the same the multiverse will be changed after this its like crisis where things are changed after the multiverse has been repaired

spencer

The show can't have a multiverse-level threat every season. It would completely devalue the concept after the second or third time.

Scott Hadden Jnr

Watcher might go Strange Supreme route. Doing anything he can to stop Ultron from gaining control of the multiverse, but in doing so loses sight of what is supposed to happen? Possibly leading to throwing the multiverse into chaos even more, instead of letting Ultron create peace in our time.

The show has never technically been a bunch of one-offs. It’s now apparent that it’s always been serialized through The Watcher’s perspective. It’ll never be the same.

Jordan Malloy

Yeah we’re just gonna act like a multiverse traversing genocidal galaxy eating robot armored vibranium robot never happened.

Cam K

Never the same! It's a Multiversal Bargain Sale folks!

Chance's House Of Horror

There has to be some consequences for his intervention things can’t and shouldn’t just go back to normal

Christian Bolda

technically the correct answer is never will be the same. The watcher thought this couldn’t happen so even if it does go back to normal the watcher will now know it’s possible for universes to crossover so that change alone means it’s not the same even though the universe is back to normal. And Eric your beard is perfect for kratos cosplay

Deadpool

I think The Watcher will be scared mentally after this and it might influence his decisions in the future

Flashback007

For season 2 it will be back to normal

Dip602

I think most of the MCU films & tv shows won't feel an impact, but its now a little easier for multiverse characters to travel between universes.

Joel

I think it will end up returning to normal in the sense everyone will be back in their respective realities, Supreme Sorcerer Strange might not survive considering what he would go back to, but for the audience and watcher itself everything changes since we now know it is possible for multiversal threats like this to happen

SWPlagueis

It seems like it will never get back to normal given that Ultron punched The Watcher through so many different universes so it seems like multiversal damage has sustained.

I think it would be a waste to return to normal. Perhaps create a team to police the multiverse to keep things like this from happening again since the Watchers people won't interfere.

Acesoldia

We will still have a season with the same concept as before after this

DC Fanboy

I think next week's season finale will wrap up this Ultron arc, and the Watcher will go back to watching different universes in Season 2.

ColtonG

I think the watcher will now be weary about what is happing in other universes so he might do something so this doesn’t happen again.
