I personally feel sometimes there best shows are easy to follow ones that are for the whole family. Like Avatar. It allows them to properly follow the story and have fun discussions. They struggle to follow Naruto. You expect them to follow something like Evangelion which never for one second holds your hand. I can see them discussing plot stuff the entire time and missing the point of the show entirely

Rurouni Kenshin is a masterpiece. And the creator's poor and disappointing decisions doesn't change the fact that is is a masterpiece and one of the great anime of all time. I'm here for the art so it def gets my vote.

Holy shit... Monster made the list. Pleasant surprise. I don't expect it to win but still a pleasant surprise and hope it gets enough support to remain on the list. For me, it's one of the best anime ever produced and one of the few animes that would work well for live action. The protagonist and antagonist are both top tier anime characters. Also.... the opening theme is one of my favorite opening themes in anime. I urge everyone to check it out.

Just read the youtube and patreon comments and saw the huge interest with the Monster animation reaction that I have not watched yet. My original vote was NGE, Samurai X, and Samurai C. NGE was for the mid arc mindf that I would want them to experience lol. I admit that Samurai X and C was way too long to watch and regret voting it. I take offense at Rick's statement at 3:10 about One Piece. One Piece debuted October 20, 1999. It has been on for 22 years, it is '2005 and before'. The only thing I can think of as to why Rick would say what he said is because the Funimation Dub didn't happen until 2007-08, only because of that wretched 4kids dub. If that is the reason, its a cheap excuse. The only rational explanation as to why someone wouldn't want to watch One piece that anyone could easily comprehend is the episode count. Currently, there's 972 episodes (Funimation is currently dubbing/releasing episodes 629-746). Sorry for the rant, just joined this patreon account. Voting for Yu Yu Hakusho, Trigun, and Ghost in the Shell.

If you do end up watching Kenshin, it's totally acceptable to skip the filler including the pirate arc and Christians arc. But, you should also skip the last made OAV's which are not based on anything the mangaka wrote and essentially has Kenshin die of syphilis. So stupid. The live action movies are entertaining though. On a similar note, feel free to stop after the TV series of Eva. The movies were made after the fans complained so the show runner made the fans regret asking for it (best I can do without spoilers). Also, I'm conflicted if you should watch the original or the reboot that actually explains what the heck is going on. Prob the original; join everyone who is still confused by what actually happened.

Talk about a tough decision! Seeing all of these really brings me back, so it was tough to decide what to pick. I look forward to rewatching whatever wins!

Personally think a poll like this (specifically for older shows) should always be a mainstay tbh. Have old shows vs old shows and new shows vs new shows. Because more often than not, old shows don't stand a chance against newer ones.

they will, with their new patreon format, they will always be 4 episodes ahead of their youtube drops, so they would have to watch the first 5 episodes fairly close together, so when the first episode drops on youtube, they already have the next 4 up on early access.

Champloo is good but pretty overrated imo, Evangelion and Hakusho are the only really worthwhile shows here, not a fan of watching grown adults watch stuff like Ben 10 but hey, whatever wins.

Quick head’s up, when you do get to Monster, I would highly recommend the first four or five episodes be watched at once. Monster is a great series, but its pacing is… deliberate.

There are so many shows on this list that would take them more than a year to finish... I voted Samurai Champloo, NGE, and Trigun just because they can get through them in a reasonable amount of time. It'd be a shame to start such a long series when there are so many gems they haven't yet that are significantly shorter.

It seems BW purposefully went for older shows for this poll so can't be too mad that Gravity Falls isn't on the list this time around, but it's the only animated show for the last couple of years that I've been interested in seeing reactions from Blind Wave for.
