Us (2019)
A family's serene beach vacation turns to chaos when their doppelgängers appear and begin to terrorize them.
It’s an allegory for privilege. How in order to have in the current system someone else can’t have.the others are the ones forgotten about on their way tithe too they have come to take what they think they have been denied. One could also see the that Peele was also trying to communicate about race traitors and how upper class African Americans sometimes deny other black people rights bc they now have the privilege to gain from others suffering just like the rich whites always did. This article is really good. https://link.medium.com/tF2upcQwT4

Us was an amazing movie. Not only does Jordan Peele create good horror/thriller films, but he builds them in a way that make you think for a long time afterward. If you're only interested in simple, mindless action movies, you better look elsewhere. Complaining about Us being complex or difficult to understand is like complaining because an orange tastes like an orange. Don't go in a Peele movie expecting it to be something else.
Also, I don't understand why they didn't get the symbolism with the scissors. It was like the most obvious thing in the movie. Look at the scissors shape... and think about what the movie is about. ;)

you sound just like the people who say if you don’t like black panther you must be racist. Everyone has their own opinion and not everyone thought get out or black panther we’re good

This movie wasn't very good. Not surprised by Shane disliking Get Out. GET OUT either went over his head or it cut too close to home to his own prejudices.

I think so cus of bunch of things like how he acts super weird not like normal kids like building sand tunnels instead of castles he cant remember how to do the magic trick because it would have been the real jason that did the trick then they would have got switched that summer at his grandmas where the dad said he was acting strange and did not talk like at all and said it was because he was sad his grammy died but I think it would have been the same as adelaide where he was a tether and had to learn how to speak. and the real jason would not have been able to talk and say he was the real one cus his face was burned bad which is why he has the mask the fact that he could not snap on beat but pluto could with ease its a interesting theory theres a lot more stuff to it that is just a couple things but like I said Jordan does not confirm or deny it is true its up for viewers to speculate

The more you think about this movie the less it makes sense. if they made it 100% supernatural instead of government experiment there wouldn't be so many plot holes.

I liked the movie overall. It requires quite a bit of suspension of disbelief, though. Jordan Peele is a good fit for The Twilight Zone, given his style. Just wish the twist of Get Out hadn't been spoiled for me the week of release. I can appreciate the movie, but that first initial shock from the twist would have been great to have.

Negative. I do not believe there is anything whatsoever pointing to her son being switched or a clone.

I like this take by Matt Goldberg: "The mythology of Us provides a cursory explanation of how things unfolded, but they’re not the point of the movie. Instead, we should look at the subtext of the story, and here we find the most disturbing revelation of all.
We’re told earlier in the film that the doubles couldn’t reasonably function as doubles because they lacked a soul, and that for all the copying the government could do, they couldn’t replicate that one part. Given the behavior we see from all the doubles–killing with abandon, showing no remorse over their actions, etc.–that would seem to hold true. But switching Red and Adelaide leads to something far unnerving, which is that the concept of a “soul” is a luxury provided by those who have the comfort of freedom and choice. The reason the doubles are “soulless” isn’t because the soul couldn’t be copied, but because they never had a chance at one in the first place.
By swapping Red and Adelaide, we see a strong argument in favor of nurture over nature. If Red truly had no “soul”, then she never could have adapted to life above ground. She couldn’t have expressed herself through dance, found love, or been a part of a family. Conversely, if a “soul” does exist, then it can just as easily be worn away by circumstance. Adelaide starts out a normal girl, but after spending decades underground with the doubles, she eventually goes insane and decides to put together a murderous uprising."

"You know, they’re filming something by the carousel" is a reference to 80s vampire flick The Lost Boys. Also, Lupita Nyong'o is fantastic.

I think the message they were trying to tell is that it's their turn to be people, and they're coming for us

There's a lot of interesting theories and easter eggs in the movie but when I first watched it I was disappointed. It's a take on America as I think it is implied the rest of the world isn't affected.
Seeing it again, I liked it more because the first time I saw it I thought it was going to be serious like Get Out was, but this was more comedic so I went with it my second viewing.
Another problem with this one is that there's so many questions that aren't answered and a lot of factors that are unrealistic. However, suspend disbelief and it's a cool horror-type movie to watch.

Sucks they didnt pick up on bunch of stuff like the son being switched and they are both shadow people thats huge theory and Jordan Peele never confirms things to let audience members make decisions themselves but I think its pretty obvious the little boy was a clone and the one with burned face was her real son
