The Walking Dead 10x7 Poll

Do you think Siddiq's accomplishments in his time on the show were enough to keep Carl's Legacy alive?

Comments

I really don't think story wise, it was on Siddiq alone to keep his memory alive. The whole Carl sacrifice idea was that if we're going to rebuild society, we have to be civilized (When the enemy surrenders, it's honored, when a crime is committed, death isn't the go-to sentence, etc). Placing both the behind the scenes and fictional baggage on one character isn't really fair to the guy. No one worries about Carol keeping T-Dog's memory alive when she tries to get revenge in spite of the group's wellbeing. Siddiq was getting some really interesting story to work with but the nature of this show is that characters die and the story keeps moving.

It's difficult to say, I think he did live up to expectations because he IS a doctor and he did help people. Although we didn't see it as much as we could've (due to the time skip) I think he payed his dues. The way they killed off Carl is bullshit and always will be, but I honestly believe Siddiq did well enough for the character he was; I do wish we got to see more of it so it could've felt more fulfilling.

I voted no but only because I think Negan will be the one to carry on Carl’s legacy

Matt Baines

I'm really disappointed with the decision to kill off Siddiq. There was so much more they could have done with his character. But I am interested to see how Rosita deals with this. I think she may turn to Eugene...

YouTube blocked your reaction!! I guess you guys are on it though since it’s not available in here..... any updates??

It's tough. I don't think Siddiq deserved plot armour because of Carl's death. I personally think Negan is Carl's Legacy more than Saddiq. Seeing as the dream Carl saw was mostly about Negan becoming one of us. To be honest, this is kind of Scott Gimple's fault really, he is the one that ruined Carl's story because of Real Life circumstances.

Just watched the reaction on blindwave dot net

I don't think Carl's legacy can fully be placed on Siddiq's shoulders. That, I think, falls on the community as a whole. Carl saved him because it was the right thing to do. Siddiq lived the remainder of his life well, helping people. Do I wish he wasn't strangled by his creepy ass assistant? Yeah. Is the community's last medic working for the enemy? Yeah. But we have an inside man of our own. He's got a bat, it's name is Lucille. He's got a leather jacket and his balls are made of STEEL! Let's go, Negan!

Is the video down? Cus I see this poll but no reaction on youtube :(

MustacheKash

Definitely. Just cause Carl died saving siddiq, it doesn’t mean he gets a free pass for life. He still got to live for almost 8 years as the doctor saving lives. He trained Enid who went on to save Aaron because of this. And he even fathered his own child. Plus negan is still around and contributing and helping the group against the whisperers to protect the communities, which has just as much, if not more, going for it when it comes to Carl’s legacy

Nope

Dragon83

I liked his stay on the show and even when he's gone Carl's legacy will live on through Negan if he stays with the community.

I voted no which isn't to disrespect Siddiq but to say that the show will never validate it's decision to kill Carl Grimes for me.

Charlotte

I think Carl showed the group that people still have humanity. It was more than just Siddiq carrying on his legacy.

Josh Bornman

I'm voting yes, mainly because I feel like having a doctor has saved them plenty of times, plus he saved Negan who's just the boss. Although we haven't always focused on him, I kinda feel the off-screen stuff is just as important.

The Doctor

Unless that baby grows up to be Jesus i say no it wasn't

Dip602

I think Negan is the way to keep Carl's legacy alive. As long as Negan is a contributing member of the community, Carl's vision is still real. If Negan doesn't come back, Carl's legacy is gone.

No even though the show tells us that he's made an impact since in their timeline he's been around for years, for us he's only been around for about two seasons

Joel

I'm gonna have to say no. I know 7 years have passed so, in theory, the characters (not main characters, necessarily) were much closer to Siddiq than to Carl or even Rick, for that matter. I like time jumps, but I don't approve of them painting their relationship with Siddiq like it was so well developed. I wanted to see his actions for myself, not hear what he accomplished off-screen. And the fact that he had a baby allows them to say that "Siddiq's legacy lives on", which I'm also not a fan of.

Diego R.

As a character he wasnt as interesting as Carl to follow so I say no.

Doby Greg

Yes! It’s been like 7 years since Carl kicked it.. the dude knocked up Rosita too.
