Doctor Who 9x10 Reaction Early Access!

Comments

I know this is late but nice job Lono! I especially appreciate the version of Clara’s theme, from Bells of St. John, you chose for the end card

Brian Barnes

I am better than someone who would use the line "you think you are better then me" with the written word. Then as a viewer why can't you leave the topic of conversation to what we are watching? If we all already know what is going to happen, why do you feel the need to bring it up? If these is for us as you state, why are you skipping ahead?

o

These comments are for us viewers. None of the reactors read these. Only Aaron does, as he has seen the show. I've seen you comment a few times here and it seems to be you think you are better than the rest of us as we are patrons.

Sheriff Uchiha

It's definitely better to forget Sleep No More. I'm surprised you guys were not more devastated at Clara's end.

Crankygrandma

Ugh Doctor Who fans are kind of gross. I guess people believe that other people came here to hear their thoughts on the next couple of episodes as they try and ruin once again the experience for the Reactors. I am only in this for one rotation, but I am glad that it did not work out because people are trying to ruin this experience for others again and it is kind of sad. It is okay to like the next episode, it is okay not to like the one after, but it is not cool for you to give that out before either has come out. Only you really care about your opinion. The rest believe it is just that "your opinion" and no one paid money to come here and hear you opinion. Doctor Who the best and worst fandom.

o

not really, I am not one of the Doctor Who fans that believe that it is the end all beat all episodes. I like the arc that is coming and wanted to finish this out with them, but I can wait for Youtube, I am not searching all over the place for something that should be right here.

o

I’ll gladly drop half a saw buck for Heaven Sent a week early. Hope the curse has finally been broken

Ryan

Here for next week episode?

Doby Greg

this was a lot of work, so I think that I am a one and done patreon. Good Luck in all future endeavors.

o

I am back as a patreon. I am here to witness, not to offend.

o

So that's where all that artwork came from? I didn't know there was an after credit scene so I thought the TARDIS did it herself.

Gezno

They did mention Shuri :P

TbcAlex

Watched most of it but must’ve missed it if it was mentioned

Mabs Ali

And the Cyborg in Doom Doom Patrol

Did you watch the discussion?

TbcAlex

Did they guys notice Shuri (Letita Wright) from Black Panther in the episode?

Mabs Ali

Yeah, I only mentioned those three because Moffat doesn't do the greatest job at fleshing out side characters. I think they knew this, which is why they introduce him as being a new father. That may be a big reason as to why the episode works at all.

It makes sense that it was Rigsy since he was her companion in Flatline which also explored her attempt to be The Doctor

Brian Barnes

I'm not sure any of those characters would've needed her to do what she did, or she may not have felt the need to.

s4ean

I'd agree with this, however i wouldn't say "grandma" Clara's life was depressing. She said she taught in every country. I'm no teacher but I would imagine that would be quite special.

That thumbnail is so reminiscent of the Season 2 finale of Torchwood. Ouch

Brian Barnes

Absolutely. I can't wait.

TisyuPaper

Full reaction 100% definitely next week...

Rhinehold

same here man, its just a great episode and a really good conclusion to my favourite season...

Joel Foster

You mean the next episode, Heaven Sent is top 10 Doctor Who episodes, but Hell Bent is fucking shite

Joe Entwistle

I love Hell Bent. There I said it.

Nick Earl

I personally thought Clara's death here is pretty solid. She was like a ticking time bomb with her recklessness and trying so hard to be like The Doctor. It's fitting that that led to her own demise. Didn't like the editing though. It ruined the mood for me when I first watched it. (Insert obligatory prayer for Blind Wave to be free from the curse of Episode 11 here).

Since we are talking stories AKA art there's not much to objectivity there. It could blink or the doctor's wife or wathever other episode is considered great by a good number of people.

Doby Greg

It would’ve been funny and terrible if it cut off right as the raven was about to hit her

ChiefChill

I would say this is Clara's first or second best death. It's between that one and the snowman one. With the strong friendship between Clara and the doctor this one really hits you. The Grandma Clara falls short mostly because of how depressing Clara's life seemed to have been. Actually third or second. The best one is the one where she goes into the timelines. It perfectly close the loop of her character. Not that I mind that it didn't stick since it gave me one of my favorite pairings with Clara and 12th.

Doby Greg

I had forgotten about this episode until it reached the ally way

ChiefChill

Another fine episode with a really solid ending that makes it better. A really solid death for Clara. It tells you about her love of adventure made her go to far. It shows her compassionate nature since her request is to not avenge her. And I love Capaldi taking command of the scene and reminding Ashildr than she's a child he could destroy anytime. I always find her smugness annoying and her immortality cheap and somehow she keeps getting the best of the doctor.

Doby Greg

There have been a number of actors who have appeared in the old and new series. The ones that come to my mind first are Christopher Benjamin (Col. Hugh Curbishley in The Unicorn and the Wasp - Calvin will probably remember both of his iconic earlier appearances), Sheila Reid (Clara's gran), and Lynda Baron (a department store clerk in Closing Time - she first featured in a First Doctor story!).

J. Black

Aaron, Shane and Calvin may need to check on Eric after next weeks episode. He is already so invested in Capaldi's performances he may not survive next week.

Dannielle

Really excited for next episode. It's my current fav Doctor Who episode

CrossZ

Although not the TV show, Bernard Cribbins, who played Wilfred Mott, was in one of the Dr Who movies, Daleks' Invasion Earth 2150 A.D., starring Peter Cushing as The Doctor. Also, unless Aaron was speaking specifically of guests, Elizabeth Sladen appeared in both old and new Who.

The Amish Electrician

Seeing Eric red faced with tears in his eyes when Capaldi speaks is just so damn relatable!

I enjoy (don't love, but enjoy) this episode... but man, the next two episodes are really special!

Joel Foster

my heart literally broke during the last minutes with this two. The Look on his face was so full of pain and regret. Like i try to remember everything about her.

Saskia Gaber

BIRD

Brian Barnes

If they loved Capaldi’s monologues here, can’t wait to see their reactions next week.

AdDifferent

Nah, Eric, it's Moffat's fault for creating that expectation in you because he can't fucking let his characters die.

Scribbles

7 days 'til what is objectively the single best story ever produced by this show

Oh no. :(

Scribbles

next 2 weeks oh so excited

Just by the thumbnail we know...

Gavin Hardiman

Holy shit I did not realise Rigsy is Cyborg in Doom Patrol

Jack Dwyer

Oh boy...
