Titans 2x2 Poll!

How do you feel about the Casting of Iain Glen as Bruce Wayne so far?

Comments

There were parts of episode 2 where his voice made me believe he could be Batman, but then there were also parts where I'm like no way this is Batman. I think he's just there to play the Bruce Wayne roll and we won't see him as Batman.

Ethan Prendergast

I feel like episode 2 did it a lot more for me, but I'm kind of seeing him as more of a guy-in-the-chair type Batman, almost a Batman Beyond type. I couldn't picture this Bruce Wayne as Batman.

Episode 2 i got a better feel for the character but i still need to see more to really say. I want to see him try to pull off a more dark and serious batman because i feel like if he can nail that aspect i’ll be ok with the accent and the build not being completely accurate

I feel like I’m slowly getting used to the idea of this older Bruce. The conversation they had in this episode was great, still need to see more tho

RoadRaf

I dont focus on voice I focus on the character so I love it

Matthew

I just need to see him in the suit, and hear his bat-voice then I'll have a better idea of whether I like it or not. Here's hoping for a Robin, Nightwing and Rose vs. Batman fight.

Mack Place

I'm sold as Bruce Wayne; hesitant as Batman since in the season finale he did look 6'4 and 260 pounds of muscles.

Cristian1818

If anyone can play an older, more experienced man I think its Ian Glenn. However, him playing this role will take some getting used to, and I am excited to see where it goes

He feels like he’s channeling Adam West, which is GREAT - but I don’t know if it fits the tone of this show.

Able

I like this older take on him, i agree with Calvy, i wanna see him in his suit. Or maybe a Batman beyond type suit?? Idk I JUST WANT BATMAN!!

Carson the Jedi-Panda-Man

Second episode threw me back to Batman Beyond's Bruce and I love the concept that our team is the only thing new - less exposition and more cool reactions from the get go.

Lonahora

From what I’ve heard, he’s the closest voice to Kevin conroy, which is a plus. But I need to see him angry to really evaluate his Dark Knight attitude

Babikir Abdelrahman

I just want him to be grumpy :)

Herberderber

I'm neutral about it so far, there really isn't much to judge so far.

tsujoi

I like that he is shown to be wise and I hope we get more from his character, but I would also like to see the other-side of him (batman in action).

Not to be the negative guy cuz i really loved this episode and where the show seems to be going BUT I’m really not feeling it. I feel like if it was a different casting it could be much better. The dialogue is serviceable but would be better in a different casting.

YaBoiBrandon

He's ok, I just feel like when Ian Glenn auditioned for a role in Titans he though he was going to play Alfred until he got on set

Joel

I just love that his voice sounds a lot like Kevin Conroy.

Matthew Cronin

Can you feel it Mr. Krabs?

John FD Lobrano

Haven't seen it yet, so I guess I need to see more.

Woodsie89

Who else read "I'm really feeling it" as Shulk?

GoldArthur

I like how he's an older more experienced version and Iain pulls that of well, I think what most people don't like is that he isn't like any other iteration of Batman we've seen

The Jarl

I have to see more ,i'm kinda in the same mindset as eric , i don't hate it but don't love it either. I like that he can bring the 'softer' side of bruce/batman which is something i feel like we haven't seen in live action before. But physically he just doesn't look fit the part for me , the blond hair and slimmer body frame just doesn't feel like bruce to me

inez

he feels like an Alfred

Grimston101

It just reeks of stunt casting to me. I just don't think he is the right actor for the role.

Axis 77

Good so far, i need to see him in the cowl or i wont be able to make a final verdict!

Garrett Gee

I like his portrayal of Bruce so far. I'd love to see a flashback of him and young Dick Grayson to see their interactions and how he trained Dick. We'd get to see a different side of Bruce than what we've gotten so far.

Ryu808

Im really enjoying it and i need to see more. Really hope he gets into the costume

Dip602

I haven't seen Game of Thrones (I am currently reading the books) and I haven't seen him in anything else, but I still think his performance is a little off. I can't tell what it is exactly, maybe it's his inflection or maybe he just needs to work on his accent, I'm not really sure. I just can't see him as Bruce Wayne, at least not yet. Also, I've always wanted to see Jeffrey Dean Morgan play Bruce/Batman. After seeing him play Negan, he has the charisma to play Bruce and his jawline would work well in the cowl. Jeffrey Dean Morgan would also make a good Deathstroke if they made him look a little older or flashpoint Thomas Wayne.

Jake Z

I feel that because we've known Iain Glen as Jorah , its hard to separate him from that role in terms of accent, he also seems less brooding as Bruce Wayne than what we are used to, though I am excited. Also Brenton Thwaites who plays Dick, is an Australian actor.

Naveen Thampy

I’m cool with it because I don’t think this show will include much of Batman. He really doesn’t bother me as long as he stays out of a batsuit. The show doesn’t need Batman, it needs Bruce.

Sparda123

I want to see Bruce wan (Ian Glenn) interact with Jason Todd and see what their relationship is like because we have only seen him talk to Dick so far

Deadpool

I guess its because I like Batman Beyond that I can really get behind an older Bruce Wayne

James

My only issue is his age and body type, Bats is always pretty jacked. Didn't expect this universe's batman to be this old. How old is Alfred? 80? He's a fine Bruce, especially in the mentor role we've seen him in, and I'm pretty sure that'll be the only role we see him in. Even if we never see him kicking ass in the cowl, I would like to be able to picture him doing so, and I just don't see it. MAYBE in a armor type suit like in the Arkham games, but it would still be a stretch.

Ram

His voice is just too light. I can't picture him saying "I'm Batman" and take him serious. I could maybe buy him as a detective and mentor, but not a master combatant or prowler.

Darth Skhorrn

It's different, surely. But it's not bad. I just need to see the angry batman side of him to make my decision as to how good he is

I Am Groot

He has a horrible american accent

KevinFromNewYork

I need more to judge it. But after the second episode I started to feel an older Adam West vibe from Iain Glen.

Gabriel Rodrigues dos Santos

For me it's still somewhere in the middle, last week I had the feeling he was going to be underwhelming, but he was a little better this episode so I'll give him a little more time to show he can be a good Bruce Wayne

Tucker Lobner

I'm really digging him as Bruce, but when/if they give us Batman I don't know how I'll feel trying to imagine a guy in his late 50s is fighting like that

Billyb

When i first heard of the casting i was excited but after seeing it i felt underwhelmed by the choice and i just dont get bruce wayne vibes from him. More like alfred. No doubt hes a badass but it takes a lot for me to be sold on a good Batman

Young Sandwich

Even my mom said they should've just cast him as Alfred. Alfred who had a long, storied career as a James Bond like agent.

Marlon Eric

Literally the only problem with him is his age other than that he’s fine

CJ

I don't like it because I can hear Jorah Mormont screaming to come out every time he opens his mouth 😂

Dana (Dah-Nah)

Alfred is playing a prank on Dick because he never saw Batman without his mask.

Doby Greg

I think I need to see it some more. I will say, I really liked episode 2 Bruce a WHOLE lot better than I did episode 1.

Wrong casting. Lean, proper, older, great posture. He's not a man that put trackers in a child's ass without permission. He's Alfred.

Doby Greg

I like it. My only nit pick is that he feels a bit too old for this version of the Character. Bruce has only just got to his 2nd Robin (Jason). I feel like he fits more into a Post 5th Robin (Damian) time.

Grayson Replicas

Dick Grayson: Batman’s turning me into a killer Bruce: You want some tea and your own building. Dick: yea
