Akira Movie Reaction Early Access!

Damn, I've been meaning to watch this at some point, but with all racing around at the beginning it reminded me of the movie Redline, would be a dope movie to watch.

First time seeing it and wasn’t a fan. Not horrible but not great to me. I appreciate it for the time that it came out but other than that it’s not for me

I wonder how Taika Waititi pitched the live-action U.S. remake to major studios and what those conversations were like behind closed doors. "Just think The Warriors meets Firestarter meets Resident Evil is a post-apocalyptic Japan. It'll be a hit!" "Sure Taika, sounds great: here's 100 million dollars, but only if it's PG-13, is set in the U.S., and has a happy ending with franchise potential." It's a superhero property with a decent buzz behind it and not to long. They will most likely do it. I could see it replace Jessica Jones since there's no more netflix stuff. And a lot of more serious show end on monday. Although the humour seems more of a classic Thursday.

Less a sequel more just following the Manga more closely

Well Akira is a getting a new TV Series that will hopefully be closer to the Manga

Speaking of sequels, Sunrise has confirmed that a sequel series is in works. They will be working closely with Katsuhiro Otomo, the creator, along with the movie being remastered in 4K!
