Mid-video update + Q&A - Meat edition

Greetings all, and welcome to the mid-video-production Patreon update -- the time besides the mid-video-completion Patreon update to give various updates and other neat things! With regards to life stuff, there really isn't too much to write about. I've been doing my best to hold up after the election news has made me feel... a bit uncomfortable and hesitant regarding US travel plans next year, as well as how it could affect politics in the country I live in, but at least it's reaffirmed my drive to learn Portuguese and get my citizenship here in Brazil. So that's... good!

And as for channel updates, I don't have much to write about. I feel like my production schedule has been getting more back on track lately, in part because I've changed my work schedule to give myself more time to relax and better suit what times I'm most active. Hooray for productivity, but also not making your brain melt by working too much!

And on that unrelated note, let's go ahead and talk about video plans for the next few months!

December: Atlach-Nacha! I was very surprised by how much I adored this toxic yuri monster girl classic, and have ended up writing a lot of words on it, and the script isn't even finished yet. At the moment it's about 80% complete, and will be entering the video editing phase soon. Pretty sure it'll be out on time.

January: Saya no Uta. I will once again be teaming up with a certain friend of the channel, which means my plans have shifted around a lot! And one game that gives me an excuse to cover is a very highly requested classic from NitroPlus. I haven't played this one in... god, 10 years? So I'm really curious to see how I still feel about it. Also, meat.

February: Undecided! In the running for this is Demons Roots, Nie no Hakoniwa, and Sadistic Blood. I won't put up a poll yet because I want to get some more opinions on titles to cover befitting the sponsor for Jan~Mar, but those are what immediately come to mind.

THE LIST: GIVE IT GAMES TO FEED ITS HUNGER. As always, feel free to give suggestions and I may eventually look at them! I also think at the moment I'm missing a couple of titles people have suggested, but I'll comb through Patreon comments tomorrow to add ones people have been suggesting over the last month. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1WF_2ADCa5UY63yygiElEyGr35UPCf-jfGivuHAeaiqs/edit?gid=0#gid=0

Aaaand that's all for now! As always, feel free to leave a comment or send a DM with a question for the upcoming Patreon segment (deadline is Dec 1st), and I will see you all again soon! o/

completely understandable with everything in the US, the election news has very much made me think about leaving. I don't know how much there is to actually say about it/that could be on youtube, but I would be curious about a video about Miko Miko Nurse (almost entirely because I got jumpscared by its opening while playing chuunithm and know literally nothing about it except its op since there was an albinoblacksheep-era animation with it and an extremely crunchy nurse witch komugi amv.)

Patters

will you cover Tokage no Shippo Kiri?

Mikaro

Interesting that you always praise Brazil so much in the context of how shite the US is – as a complete outsider I used to see Bolsonaro vs Lula as analogous to the orange man vs whatever Democrat (so glad Bolsonaro lost the 2023 election!). Do you have any thoughts on that?

mallard duck says quack

You played Saya no Uta at WHAT AGE??? D: Welp, looking forward to the video regardless!

mallard duck says quack

this is a VERY tentative suggestion, content warning for like everything, but I'd be super interested if you ever covered Maggot baits. it caught my attention a while ago, but it's so ridiculously graphic and nasty that I don't think I'll ever play it myself ><

isaac

Any plans on covering the remaining ymk games?

Mikaro

*Reads how happy you were to cover the yuri monster VN and that you have so much to say on it* :D yaaaaay *reads the title January’s video will be covering* D: O H N O might not be able to watch that one due to literally every single trigger warning (first five minutes of the VN gave me a long-lasting panic attack so I could NOT continue it) but I know people who can handle it and I’m sure would love to see it being covered :,)

EeveeCurry

For February, I think all 3 would make for good videos but I am primarily curious about Nie No Hakoniwa and sadistic blood, I think

Chlob

yay so excited for a saya video!! you’ve mentioned it in passing, but i would love a full length subahibi video in the future <3 hearing your thoughts on the story and themes would b awesome

ives ^w^

Would you ever cover charon titles like mix ore or yanderella? Each of there games are like 30 minutes- two hours

Lilololala

SaDistic BlooD? Nie no Hakoniwa? Sign me up.

SilentNyle

Super excited for Saya no uta! my first vn which really sold me on the medium. Have you or do you have any plans to read and cover Oretsuba?

ZR7

Looking forward to Atlach-Nacha! It's such an interesting game premise-wise. My question is do you have a favorite setting when it comes to visual novels? Meaning historical era, another world, post-apocalyptic, etc, that when you hear about it it's immediately on your radar? Good luck with the citizenship process!

Rand

Saya No Uta? *Cue Internal Screaming*

Lael Hochberg

Night shift nurses is getting a remake on Jast so that might be a good one to cover. I’m super excited for Saya no Uta! I first played that at an admittedly too young age so it’s made a big impact on my VN tastes lol

ParasyteGhoul

What's your favorite kind of meat?

CDP1802

I forget what the Japanese name is but Night shift nurses may be a good one with the remake? Also I reallyyy hope you cover To Heart in the spring or something…. That would be fabulous

Victoria Vela

Woah! Saya no Uta, such a classic. Ok, random question just for the sake of it: any japanese song or artist you are currently obsessed with? I have been revisiting some of the bands I used to listen when I was in high school and they still are awesome.

Habibi

I know it's lightweight compared to some of what you covered, but Saya no Uta was my introduction to horror VNs having something to say. Even if you end up hating it, I look forward to your revisit.

Juan Borla

So so so exciting to see you’ll be talking about Saya No Uta!! Stay safe and have a good day!!
