I know this is bonkers saying this about a DW episode - but there's too much that's too way-out historically for me to get past in this one. The defence of London wasn't conducted from the Cabinet War Rooms (obviously!) and even more obviously, they don't contain weapons R&D labs(!) And why are they getting so worried by a dozen Luftwaffe bombers? But, even saying that, the production is scrumptous - the set design, costumes and props and SFX are great. The British Army Dalek is especially good looking.

The episode has it faults, but overall I always enjoyed it. It's not one I skip when I'm rewatching some Doctor Who. (like Fear Her or Love & Monsters, which I do skip)

If they don’t buy Matt as the doctor in the two parter then I don’t think they are ever going to like him.

I love Matt but this is just false. Tennant’s anger was my favorite. It was so deliberate and obvious that it made the doctor more badass. Smith’s anger is much more calm and collected, which can make it scarier, but to say he plays angrier better is just false.

I'm sorry but Matt plays angery much better than Tennant and Eccleston. I found 9 and 10's anger kinda kid like and funny. Matt is a lot more emotional and you can sense and see how upset it he is. It's more of a boiling anger. He is much scarier than the others.

When he suddenly knocked that tea to the ground I actually jumped. I feel like the 11th is trying to hold back his hatred against the Daleks which results in him just blowing up when he can't take it anymore. He still hates them more than anything, its apparent even when he's calm, the only difference is he tries to keep his anger in check.

I think when Rory comes into the series Eric will enjoy this series so much more, because he has the rip hunter connection.

Love this season but it doesnt get properly going until next week. I hope they buy into Matt Smith in the upcoming two parter as he us incredible in those episodes.

While Eccleston and Tennant's doctors were more full of anger from the time war, Matt's is more sorrowful of what he's left behind. Hence the normally carefree attitude.

This is my least favorite episode of the series. This the only weak episode this season imo. I really like everything from this point on. Vampires of Venice isn’t perfect but it does a good job of introducing Rory. I think the thing that sets Eleven apart from nine and ten is that he’s more lighthearted and fun. He doesn’t get angry a lot, so I think Eric isn’t gonna like him lol He has some badass speeches coming up but he doesn’t really get angry. Eleven isn’t my favorite doctor (Ten is) but he’ll always have a special place in my heart because of the Eleven/Amy/Rory dynamic.

I like the Daleks better recurring than season finisher. Unfortunately, that means the threat needs to be downgraded too.

Don’t really agree with their opinion about Smith having a weaker reaction to the Daleks, true a lot more time had passed between this meeting and the time war but I love his delivery of the ‘YOU. ARE. MY. ENEMY. AND I AM YOURS’ lines, pretty badass imo
