oh i knew that, i'm almost more interested in an anime that's very anime so far My hero is the closest with it's handful of weird moments where as code geass is less entry level, still very interested to see how they like the series I've always love how Lelouch fails much more than light does

Blindwave tends to be very forgiving of shows if they feel the positives out weigh the negatives. Eric and Aaron for example are two of the most forgiving CW superhero shows reactors I have seen and are willing to put up with aspects they aren’t crazy for because of the positives. If they like the positives in CG than they will probably forgive a lot of things they see as negatives. If they don’t then it might not just be their cup of tea.

It is real hit or miss show from my experience. I really enjoyed it and felt the story was great, but acknowledge it has flaws and can get why some people dislike it. It doesn’t help that the popularity it enjoyed when it first came out did make people hype it up and for some it doesn’t live up to the hype.

I’ve watched a LOT of anime in my anime time, many great, some pretty garbage. I must admit, Code Geass is one that falls square in the middle for me, I’ve just never really been able to get into it, despite how hard many love it.

To judge an entire show based on one episode is irrational, for example, FMAB was slow af for the first few episodes and ended up being one of the best anime of all time. Give it some time, and if you cant get used to the art style, then thats more on you instead of the actual quality of the show.

I mean, it's popular for a reason. "A few well placed fans" aren't really enough to make an anime be considered one of the best of all time. Is it flawed? I'd say so. But to accuse the people who voted for it of not letting on to that or whatever is just silly. They probably just felt like the positives of the show more than made up for those flaws, as is the case with many other shows that the crew has reacted to. Like all of the CW stuff or Dr. Who.

From these comments, I can gather that Code Geass is a more flawed show than the voters originally let on, possibly one that’s grown bigger than it should have because of a few well placed fans. Sigh, I hope Teen Titans goes up on the next poll...

Umm... yeah, that's what people do, use their own preference to judge things. While I agree that the pilot and the finale are night and day, it's getting to the finale that I had major gripes with.

Yes, I wan't HxH so bad, as far as the dub, I've only seen the beginning, and for 90% of the show, I would be ok with it, but there are definitely a few scenes that the sub cast absolutely knocked out of the park, and don't know if the dub will be able to match the emotion on, so once those scenes are out, I will be able to have a more definite take on the dub.

Normally I don't have a preference for sub or dub, they both have their pros and cons, and most anime I've seen, like this or death note, I think have both solid subs and dubs, and couldn't really pick a "better" version. But Attack on Titan, and FMA:B are two exceptions, for AoT I can not stand the dub, the sub is so much better in every way. And for FMA:B it's the opposite, I find the dub to be absolutely superior the the original sub.

Seems like people are judging the entire show based on their own preferences. Just because it's not your cup of tea (and didn't finish it) doesn't mean it's bad. This is a well loved series. BUT, I think everyone that has watched the full show can agree with me that the first episode is a pretty weak entry point especially considering how good the finale is. It's like night and day.

Code Geass has its fair share of flaws, and I couldn't blame you if you hated it, but I feel like Death Note is generally considered to have far more contrivances in its plot than Code Geass.

It's been a long time since I've watched this, but my feelings are with Eric on this one. I don't remember much of the story except for my disappointment. I expect this one isn't going to be their cup of tea. I'd recommend Hunter X Hunter, but if they only do dubbed, I can't speak to the quality.

really hope they drop this and pick up breaking bad fringe lost or litterally anyhting else lol I consider My hero a 9 out of 10 and Attack on Titan a 7-8 out of 10 this show is a 2 out of 10 at least my opinion I think this shows really dumb compared to alot of other animes

You guys are totally right about this being Anime. My friends and I have said time and time again, this is the most anime anime ever. I detest the art style as well, and you've got to learn to laugh at the show, because this show is ridiculous, very purposefully over the top and ridiculous.

1), I think it’s a dub vs sub thing too Rick. The sub for this show is wonky. 2) The show is definitely a slightly slower burn but ramps up well. It’s 50 total episodes so you’ll get an idea of pacing after the next few. 3) I can agree with Rick, get a bunch of character intros and lore dump right out of the way and then build off those, and then as needed you can refer back to this episode and the opening, 4) the death note vibes you will understand soon enough

Anime back in my day was Original Voltron. I’ve seen all of DBZ as well which I enjoyed, but I feel like most anime is 2-3 ridiculous episodes and rest filler. I’ll watch the reactions for this cause I love my crew, but this show just isn’t something I’ll watch myself.

It's very hit-or-miss. Some people love it (I sure do), but plenty of people just can't get into it. I find that people who aren't used to all of the anime tropes present in this show (of which there are a ton) tend to be in the latter category, which is why I feel like it was definitely a mistake to have them watch this show without first experiencing other, more western-influenced, gateway anime.

When it comes to voice acting, it must just be personal preference. I've always been an advocate for dubs, I like a lot of dubbed anime. However I loath the Attack on Titan dub. A lot of the characters sound whiny to me, particularly Eren. For Code Geass I think the dub voice actors are pretty solid. Johnny Young Bosh does a good job capturing Lelouch's personality. (Also Crispin Freeman as Jeremiah is awesome, I'm a total sucker for Freeman) Overall there's only one character's voice that annoys me in this show and it annoyed me in the sub too. My preference must just be different than yours, cuz I can't wrap my head around the Attack on Titan dub being anywhere close to the same level as this.
