Star Wars Rebels 4x13 Poll!
Added 2018-02-28 14:20:39 +0000 UTCHow did you feel about the new aspect of time travel that's been introduced to the new Star Wars Canon?
Comments
Filoni has branched out Star Wars lore in an awesome yet manageable way. Its very intriguing to wonder how the new time travel aspects of the cosmic force revealed in the episode function within the lore. With all the prophecies in Star Wars does the reveal help explain the origins of the prophecies within the force?

2018-03-04 19:49:53 +0000 UTCIt is cool. It doesn't have the typical nuisances of time travel so taking it away the same episode removes chances of potential problems. However, it is strange that there is only one entrance to this inbetween world when this universe is so big.

2018-03-04 00:37:01 +0000 UTCI think it's a really cool take on the force. With the cosmic force they are always able to introduce new things, and they did that really well. Everyone has been wondering what happened to Ahsoka, and they finally explained it. And now with her alive, we might see her in the future.

2018-03-03 22:04:24 +0000 UTC1) It could end up created a worse future. 2) Th good guys know better than to mess with the timeline. That's partly what the episode was about. Save Kanan, Hera and Sabine die in the explosion.

2018-03-03 17:36:36 +0000 UTCDidn’t really like it because I keep thinking that Ashoka could have used her knowledge of the future to go back in time to before Anakin turn evil and tell Yoda of the future in order to try to stop it. Yeah it would change things but considering how bad things are in their present time, attempting to change the time line could be something seen worth doing.

2018-03-02 16:52:00 +0000 UTCIt’s great. And it doesn’t mean that anyone can now be saved. Ahsoka was alive in TofA, so this is always what happened to her. It’s a closed timeline where things can’t be changed. I never believed that it was even possible for Ezra to save Kanan, as it was a trick by the Emperor the whole time.

2018-03-02 13:49:35 +0000 UTCI love it. The Force is so much more than just lifting rocks and mind tricks. When Vader on the Death Star said "Don't be too proud of this technological terror you've constructed - the ability to destroy a planet is insignificant next to the power of the Force" its STUFF LIKE THIS that he was referring to

2018-03-01 22:19:08 +0000 UTCI like it, because it's grounded in ancient force power and lore, rather than just being a new ability randomly pulled out of nowhere for an already-existing character. By contrast, I hated Leia flying in TLJ because it felt like it just came completely out of nowhere, but I have no problem with ancient force artifacts like the Mortis stuff being able to do crazy things that normally wouldn't be possible.

2018-02-28 22:44:24 +0000 UTCIts best way it can be done and still make since in Star Wars lore and also I call them more like Time Gates more so then time travel.

2018-02-28 21:32:35 +0000 UTCI don't understand what you are trying to say here. First you say that the more we know about the force the less interesting it is, but then you say that it's bad that you don't have to explain the force or why things happen. Isn't that a bit contradictory? Besides, hasn't the Force always been mysterious? People moving things with their minds, sensing things, becoming force ghosts... etc. I don't feel like I knew everything about the force or how it operates.

2018-02-28 20:49:00 +0000 UTCI don’t mind the time travel aspect, because of how they presented it. They are not really traveling through time, but really stepping out of time in one moment and stepping back into time in another moment. They are also not allowing there to be a bunch of convaluted timelines, like in The Flash. Because we saw Ahsoka walking away at the end of season 2, these events had already happened before Ezra enter the portal. Ezra never changed the past, he caused the past to happen.

2018-02-28 17:56:31 +0000 UTCI get them using time travel to get Ahsoka back because she's terrific, but it just seems to me that the more we learn about the Force the less interesting it seems to be and the less tension we get for our characters because they can get out of anything because "it's magic and you don't have to explain it". When did it become popular to answer questions by saying that the answers don't matter? Is that something that came from Christopher Nolan?
2018-02-28 17:15:37 +0000 UTCTo be frank I’m quite put out that you don’t have an ‘I LOVE IT’ option.

2018-02-28 17:10:08 +0000 UTCInteresting perspective. I am curious though, if the Force is not a power you have, as stated by Luke, then how can the strain of using it kill you when it's not your power or strength being used?
2018-02-28 17:07:36 +0000 UTCI like it because it was an extension of what we've already seen in that temple. When Ezra spoke to Yoda both times, it was in that temple. And each time, it acted as a conduit to allow him to reach across vast distances of space without the strain that killed Luke. It makes perfect sense to me.

2018-02-28 17:03:36 +0000 UTCI enjoy it. Because its more of a self fulfilling prophecy style of it. Also in case anyone wants to know all of the lines in the episode: https://www.reddit.com/r/StarWars/comments/80k8d0/spoilers_background_voices_from_rebels_s4e13_a/

2018-02-28 16:40:18 +0000 UTCOne wonders if Dave Filoni had a plan. Hmm ... https://goo.gl/NnvKV3

2018-02-28 16:22:23 +0000 UTCI think it was very well done for what it was. Time travel can be very messy, but they showed and implied just enough limitations to keep it neat, I really liked it.

2018-02-28 16:06:31 +0000 UTCMy 100% Completely Unbiased opinion is: It saved Ahsoka, so I love it.

2018-02-28 16:05:05 +0000 UTCI loved it. And to those who would say that it goes against the force, I say to them that they don’t know the Force. It’s the biggest mystery in Star Wars. And one that will never have a tangible conclusion, however that doesn’t mean that it’s uses can’t delve deeper and deeper. Whether it’s Force Lightning, Force projection, or this weird but cool Force realm that exists outside of the reality of the Star Wars universe. It doesn’t really matter know because it seems that the world is closed off for good. I doubt it will ever come back. But it’s still an amazing way of building off of so much lore.
Austin Bryant
2018-02-28 16:03:41 +0000 UTCNot sure how I feel about it. Call me weird but I prefer Star Wars when it's more science fiction than fantasy. And when the force does play a major role in a plot, I prefer it to be more... subtle. That being said, I'm glad they've killed the chances of time travel being used again, at least for now.

2018-02-28 15:47:08 +0000 UTCI think the Force was showing Ezra something he needed to do in saving Ahsoka. I also think that since the Emperor appeared in the same portal that showed them Ezra that it was the Emperor who was creating that image. So that if Ezra would have reached/stepped through he would have actually been with the Emperor. I even saw some analysis on SW Explained that there was some Sith iconography above the gate they saw Kanan / where Palpatine appeared.
Chris Skalicky
2018-02-28 15:37:45 +0000 UTCI honestly thought it was already a thing but I'm glad they showed it because it didn't feel out of place to me and we have Ahsoka back again.

2018-02-28 14:39:20 +0000 UTCSide note: All the voices that were heard were Obi-Wan, Qui-Gon, Yoda, Kanan, Darth Vader, Princess Leia, Jyn Erso, Kylo Ren, Anakin Skywalker, Chirrut Imwe, Rey, Maz Kanata, The Daughter, and Poe Dameron.
Seany McBuckets
2018-02-28 14:36:13 +0000 UTCI think it fits well in showing that the Force is not just this physical aspect used by some beings in the galaxy but that it transcends time and space. I am fine with the way it was used here as long as it doesn't become a device Disney uses to try to retcon something.
Seany McBuckets
2018-02-28 14:30:44 +0000 UTCIt perfectly fits into the feel of Star Wars seamlessly. I personally think they’ve gone with the time travel rules that you can’t actually change the past - but that your actions were always part of what happens.
