Just wanted to state that in any series that has any fighting aspect, while all categories of fighting are important, the one I personally respect the most is speed. Going forward, if Barry is moving faster then when zoom killed so many cops instantly or when he caught a bullet from Captain Cold’s father shooting him in surprise, then there better be a good reason when he is in trouble with this new speed.

I think an important aspect that people forget is that (despite the name) the Speed Force (as in the entity that appears before Barry as people from his life) had nothing to do with the creation of the Speed Force Prison. The Speed Force Prison was created by a Future Barry with the help of Tracy Brand, so there would be no real reason for the Speed Force to be all "Rrargh! You freed Barry from the Speed Force Prison and tried to trick us with a quark sphere! You must be punished! Blargh!" It's only influence on things would likely be altering the Prison so that Barry wouldn't spend 10,000 years in Hell. As for why it didn't do this for Wally or Jay (although Jay seemed to be completely fine after his stint) I'm not entirely sure. Maybe it knew they wouldn't be in there long enough to cause any lasting damage to them.

Just to expand a little on this. From Barry’s point of view, for now, he gave himself up and immediately received freedom. Unless he gets the memories of being trapped in the speed force later on, he didn’t really suffer while his friends and family mourned for him. Also the speed force can be present at any point in time, so it’s possible the actual consequences of taking Barry out of it will happen later on and that’s part of the thinker’s plan

I dont know if you guys caught this, but the weird writing Barry was writing everywhere was tattooed on the fingers of Caitlyn's bar friend, and also on the the Thinker's Face.

I don’t know why The Flash has started making a good “what’s gonna happen” finale and then it’s only a single episode to resolve it.

They're always back to normal by the end of the first episode.

I liked it but it would prefer to be shown how much Barry's has changed if he is going faster than any speedster they have seen there should a scene where wally is running and just have him freeze frame to show barry running since he should be that fast.

I liked it but it was too rushed for me. If it took its time like Arrow and Legends and saved Barry's return for the second or third episode, it'd have been more rewarding.

I would have liked to see Team Vibe in action more than just the Peekaboo takedown. Barry returning wasn't the issue, but I would have liked to see him more out of his mind at least until the end of episode 2.

It would have made for a better story if it had taken longer, but this was just so much fun that I can't help, but be happy it's back. Flash is at its best when it's wacky fun crazy over the top scifi adventure with occasional tears because goddammit, Joe.

Message for Eric: Regarding one of your comments in the video, I think you are right, the Speedforce probably wouldn't be tricked by Cisco's dna placeholder. Which is why I think the Speedforce only intended for Barry to "do his sentence" so to speak. That last conversation with Iris in the end made me think that Barry feeling unburdened by his past and his guilt is probably an analogy to someone that was haunted by his past surrendering himself to the authorities to pay for his crimes. And now that he went through the experience, he can truly put his past behind him and move on with his life. That's how I see it anyway.

I liked that team flash got false hope when they tried to bring Barry back from the speed force, it made the reveal of him much better than if he had appeared where everyone was standing and waiting for him. Just because Barry seems fine now doesn’t mean he won’t have side effects in other episodes since what he was experiencing was neurological like Caitlyn said.

I wish Barry came out towards the end of episode 2. I would have wanted them to have one episode of team vibe #thishouseisbitch’n

Directions with characters and storylines in the show. I know you guys like the actor that plays Black Bolt. I think you guys should check out Hell on Wheels. The actor's name is Anson Mount and he is a really good actor.

I would want Wally to be more in the forefront if I thought his actor could carry an episode, but unfortunately it seems like that's not the case.

Maybe another episode with him the way he was would have been good. With the saving iris as a temporary return to normal.

I think they could have had Barry be crazy for a few episodes and had wally step up as the flash, (he looked great in that red suit btw), but if things got too crazy for wally to handle barry could have an "episode", like he did in star labs when caitlyn hit him with the cold gun, and he could eake up just long enough to save the day but then go back to being broken.

I think, for the good of the show, we needed to get back to the status quo. However, I think the consequences of removing Barry from the Speed Force Prison will come back to haunt them at some point (like how FlashPoint seemingly resolved, and then ended up being the cause of all of the season's issues.)

I voted for both because, while I'm happy to see Barry back already, I also wouldn't have minded having a few episodes of the team trying to get by without him, and for the "We need Barry" moment to have been the end of one episode and we see him return in the next episode.

I would have liked to have seen Kid Flash step into the role of Flash and so he can learn just what it takes to be a leader. That could've set up an Arrowverse Titans with Kid Flash and Speedy at the helm.

It wasn't dementia tho. You need to think of the speedforce as everything is happening at the same time. So he was having multiple conversations/memories/visions at the same time so his head was a little scrambled after coming out. Only thing I wish is that it took a little longer for it to be unscrambled but I'm gonna wait and see what they're doing with this season before passing judgement

The only thing that annoyed me about the episode was the "Love fixes all" shit that they pulled AGAIN! As much as I like Iris, she can't fucking cure dementia!

If they had waited then the show would have become the wally west trying to become the flash show instead of Barry Allen the flash. Not everyone but some fans would see Barry's coming back as just taking over till wally was ready which is clearly not what the writers want. They want Barry Allen as the flash period. Wally will forever be kid flash unless he leaves the show and goes to another earth or time period.

I mostly was mad at how magically fixed Barry was. I'm sure there will still be some side effects we haven't seen, but I wanted him to have a moment of Speed Force-induced clarity, and then still be crazy after rescuing Iris

Normally, I would choose it to be longer to recover any character from any show (even Jon Snow I wanted him to be back around episode four.) However, I just want to see Barry run as soon as possible, so I am glad they got him back this soon even if the episode wouldn't be as great as if they slowed it down a bit.

Sorry, I know Last year I said I wanted kid flash to hold berrys place for a while but after seeing. This episode I'm glad we have the real flash back. Wally, will need more training. Or the writers &FX people will need to make him look better.

I wish they had more faith in the viewers to keep Barry gone or in crazed state for at least a few episodes. The team learning to get along without Barry could have been a good story arc in its own right, especially if Wally stepped up and started distinguishing himself from Barry. Felt like this premiere would have been stronger if Barry stayed out of it and Wally and Cisco figured out another way to deal with the samurai to at subvert expectations.

It was ironically too fast in my opinion I think they should have left it a few episodes with Wally as the Flash, and struggling with the burden, and then have Barry come back but still not be 100% himself for an episode or two.

I liked the episode but I kinda wish that it would have taken Barry like a couple episodes to get back. The anticipation building up to him coming out would have been cool and worth it. Still liked this though.

I wish it would have lasted longer. I feel the emotional impact i felt I had at the end of last season was for nothing as it was sorted immediately. It would have been cool to see wally take up the role of the flash and see his struggle to live up to what Barry represented

I am ok with the quick transition, as long as we get more explanation later of what Barry was experiencing. Though to me he seemed to be talking about all of his possible lives he may have lived based on choices at once. At least that is my theory. I’m glad to have the quick villain reveal, though there’s no way it’s this simple, I am sure we will be surprised later. And still lots of questions about Caitlyn to still deal with as well. All in all a good episode and I’m ready for more.

I wish they took their time more. But to be fair it's just 1 episode for us and six months for them. And it seems there will be plenty of more problems that are still spilled over from the previous season, like Caitlin/Killer Frost thing and Barry seems to be mentally not 100% there yet. So I will wait and see where it goes from here.

I wish it had taken longer for him to come back, give Wally and Vibe more time to develop. But I also had hoped Flashpoint lasted longer last year too
