Also, you guys will get a few details on Iroh leaving his body to stay in the spirit world eventually. Just gotta wait for it :D

I think the dragonbird spirit was inherently a Light spirit, where Furryfoot was neutral, meaning he was corrupted more easily.

Thank you, Aaron for singing a little bit of Blue Oyster Cult's Godzilla during this review. To the rest of you, your reactions to seeing Iroh again were all I could have hoped for.

I'm filled with joy that you guys stuck through season 2. Your reactions to Wan, Iroh, and the spirit story has been great to watch. Thank you. I am going to probably repeat what others have said, but you'll all love season 3 and 4; me thinks.

Alternatively, the first time he travelled to the spirit world, he was able to say his farewell to his son. Also makes a bit more sense than his son staying in the spirit world for several years.

As cool as it was to see Iroh again his ascension to the Spirit World killed any hopes I had to him seeing his son again in an Afterlife in the Avatar World. Before someone tells me they have reincarnation in this world I always imagined they had an afterlife that they spent some time in before they got reincarnated. It is sad to think Iroh never got to see his son again after everything he did.

If you enter the Spirit World through a portal, like Unalaq, you have your body, so you can bend. Jinora and Korra entered through meditation, so it's just their spirits, which is why they can't bend.

I think Korra being represented as a child is hint to her spiritual and emotional immaturity which explains her bad behavior in the earlier episodes. Also, I would assume, the dragon Phoenix was not corrupted because it was created with the efforts of korra on scaling the mountain using her inner light from raava.

A difference in how long it took isnt too strange cause of the existence of bending

Yeah the second half of Book 2 is much better lol. The first half of Book 2 is probably the weakest the show gets. The rest of this season is epic though, hope you guys enjoy!! (:

So just to clarify, because as an Avatar fan, you guys are triggering me 1) the reason Korra couldn't bend is b/c she didn't go through the spirit portal and Unalaq did. Because he took over the Southern water tribe, he virtually ruled over the area and had the portal guarded. It would've been much easier for Korra to go into the spirit world, the normal way which is through meditation, because she didn't need her bending to close the portal. WAN-SHE-TONG is the correct pronunciation of the knowledge spirit.

I dunno, 10,000 years is about how long it took to go from "hey, if we put seeds in the ground and wait a while, there's more food" to the industrial revolution. Seems right to me.
Also: "The moon landing WAS faked--ON THE MOON! That's why it looked so real!" --Some comedian or something, I can't remember and Google isn't helping.

I assume the Phoenix is a more powerful spirit than the flying bunny and thus harder to corrupt.
